Warrior Threads

all these fomelos have been pretty fat, I don't think they are normal or necessary

there was one warrior I saw around who looked pretty normal, I think it was Grubbles, probably something a bit more within reach for you

*and I mean even Grubbles looks like he's rocking some Deepmetal and exquisite augs which costs thousands of plat, so yeah

Ok, so here's a question...

How do I accurately assess equipment, and the benefits of the stats to me.

I know the general idea of what stats do, but in what quantities are the effects really noticeable?

Comparison examples that aren't obvious would be nice (not like leather cloak compared to enforcer's guard or something like that where it's easy to see which is better).

Up until now, I've been seeing people say AC is more important than HP...and other various statements like this, and so I'd pretty much been favoring AC on equipment unless there was a size-able difference in stat increases and the AC loss was minimal (below 5) ...

I'd just like to be able to have a decent idea of what I'm gaining and losing when switching gear with different stats...something a little less vague...

Example : I have Greaves of the Ancient. I don't have capped stats or anything, you can fomelo me to see my AAs if that makes a difference here...

GotA gives currently (not exped yet)
AC 21
STA 5
STR 5
AGI 4
DEX 4
HP 80
SV Fire/Cold/Magic 9

No GotA: HP = 2887
With GotA : HP = 2993
Difference: 106 - 80 (gota hp) = 26 (where is this coming from the STA? or the STA + ?

No GotA : AC = 1077
With GotA:AC= 1112
Difference: 35 - 21 (gota ac) = 14 (where is this coming from the AGI? or the AGI + ?

You get the idea...

raw HP is simply the biggest game changing stat around, starting at level 1

there is a balance to maintain between HP/AC, and if you look at high end fomelos you can see there is roughly a 4:1 or 5:1 ratio (but I've heard some people say that HP > AC in a 6:1 ratio fashion)...to make things more complex, there are soft caps for AC that exist, with X returns coming before and diminishing Y returns coming after in terms of mitigation

As for GotA hp/ac discrepancies, yes STA is a huge HP bonus for tanks that don't have it capped, and when it comes to AC well that is kind of like ATK I am not going to try and even explain because I will get it wrong (Zaela knows this stuff better than anyone)

I would aim for itemization with a 4:1 or 5:1 HP:AC ratio, get capped or close to capped STA, and only consider other stats if they provide a major boost (+5 is not major)

Without getting into a numbers and formula game the biggest advantage to havng high ac is that the mobs spike damage is less. It evens out the incoming damage and makes it much easier to heal. There will be those unexpected higher rounds, but they will be much less frequent.

Also more ac means more effective heals in essence. If mobs are hitting you for less then the heals will go further. Meaning less heals to keep you alive.

this is all well and good if you already have high hp but as i said there is a balance to maintain and having 1500 ac with only 2000 hp is worthless

get HP, maintain a ratio, win, swag
