Very Few Dwarves

Here is a random question.

I was playing around with the /who feature a couple of times last week and I noticed something odd.

There were a lot of humans - as expected. There were also a lot of leezards, elves, and half elves. There were very few fatties. But in a completely unscientific survey, I found fewer dwarves than anything - a statistical dead heat with frogloks.

As I remember from live, there were dwarves EVERYWHERE.

Why the difference?

Oh, truth in advertising. The first thing I rolled up was a dwarven paladin / human druid combo for dc play, and neither made it out of the pick-a-character circle. So I am to blame for this also.

Still, where did all the dorfs go?

I have a 51 dwarf pally, yet he is kind of retired since I can't find anywhere or anyone to group with at 51 :\. So I stripped him and put all his gear that was wearable on my ranger lol.

Maybe dwarves and gnomes are all secretly fighting in a GM event that would soon become "The smallest War of Dalaya" against the nasty brownies

It all comes from when the great dwarven hero, Thorbain LightHammer, gave us his soul to umm.. the bad guy.. for the body of the dread lord Grontuh teh Merri. The dwarves had to be sacraficed to gain the blessing of his new lord, and when they were served as a cocktail snack to alazif, the remaining population was wiped out from his mighty hungering rage... for dorf meat.

Hehe maybe the problem is, is that Dwarves are on the same "side" as gnomes...well the zone for me, was very difficult for me to get out of the zone and it was also hard for me to find quest NPC's. So I thought to myself..why make a dwarf? And so then I made gnomes! Well I ended up finding out that gnomes weren't what I wanted really much either. So I ended up making a dark elf.

In conclusion:
Why make a dwarf when you can be a gnome?

Re

I hate being short lol. I am 6'4" in real life and I couldn't even imagine being shorter then like 5'6".

But I played a halfling druid on live. But the biggest reason I don't play a dwarf is because they don't have an int caster based character available specifically a necromancer. I have had bad experiences with a pally (my first ever char, but that was before a lot of pally changes). I think that a warrior would be kind of boring just tanking, and that a cleric could be fun and easier to find groups, but solo shows up again kinda like the rogue which depends on groups for the most part.

The best dwarf classes are cleric, paladin, and rogue. Rogues get a bunch of illusion masks, and many people who would make a dwarf paladin go for human for the exp bonus =)

Bearded women *shudder*

That way, dorf males get to freely experiment with their homosexual tendencies while still staying straight.

Unfortunately, it seems to affect their population reproductive rate adversely.

Um. Could this be the reason why there are so few? :?
