vah shir and luclin

i know there is probably already a post about this but i couldnt find one......i was just wondering if they were gonna implement luclin and the vah shir race into SoD sometime in the future?

There are only NPC Vah shirs atm ; and Luclin zones are no more due to lore events, except a few of them (Cyrtho Malath aka Shissar temple I think it is, is in game)

Regarding Vah Shir: Read #5.

If/when we do add other Luclin zones, they will be individual zones that fit into Dalayian lore. Although, to be quite honest, I'm not sure there are many/any of them left that would.

From Q&A night last summer:

[Wed Jul 18 14:33:35 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'OK, since you guys refuse to read it, I am going to list off the planes / deity zones that are currently in the planning stage.'
[Wed Jul 18 14:33:41 2007] You broadcast, '(City of Mercy will be the best)'
[Wed Jul 18 14:34:05 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'Plane of Fire (Gorzenath, non swearable deity) - pofire from live'
[Wed Jul 18 14:34:15 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'Plane of Earth (Sihala) - growth'
[Wed Jul 18 14:34:54 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'Plane of Entropy (Gradalsh) - podisease and mons letalis'
[Wed Jul 18 14:35:10 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'Sanctuary of Malath (malath, duh) - grimling'
[Wed Jul 18 14:35:33 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'The Silent Halls, City of the Numb and Frozen Heart (shojar) - Three ldon mir zones'
[Wed Jul 18 14:36:18 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'City of Mercy (althuna) - Sseru. Yes, we're reusing sseru and ignoring the fact that it existed on lom, because there's no other good zone for it =p'
[Wed Jul 18 14:36:44 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'Plane of Lore (jayla) - PoTime.'
[Wed Jul 18 14:36:56 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'That includes all the deities who do not currently have zones.'
[Wed Jul 18 14:37:12 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'There will be quests for the divine light and pariahs, but not their own zones.'
[Wed Jul 18 14:37:46 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'The deities that have the best zones to hunt (ie the best zones you miss out on) will have the best quests / deity augs.'
[Wed Jul 18 14:37:56 2007] Admin-Wiz BROADCASTS, 'I think that should answer everything about deity zones.'

Ssraeshza Temple is in game as Cyrtho Malath, and Vex Thal is used as the Mansion of Portals. I think thats it for Luclin zones.

I honestly can't think of any other decent zones from Luclin... it over all was a rather crappy expanison (and thats putting it mildly).

Is one of the zones listed above the one with the gigantic invisible bridge? I enjoyed that zone simply because of that bridge. Everyone move single file and follow the wizard's eyeball. hahahaha

You are referring to overall content as opposed to just zone files. There were some pretty interesting zones from luclin

Both, I dont' recall any of the zones being all that intersting. At least nothing sticks out in my mind, unlike zones in Yheska, PoP, Velious, Kunark etc

The only thing I remember about Luclin zones was "Good God I hate that video lag!" Heck, Planes of Power and Lost Dungeons came later and were much nicer to my comp.

'City of Mercy (althuna) - Sseru. Yes, we're reusing sseru and ignoring the fact that it existed on lom, because there's no other good zone for it =p

[edit: at 4am ssra and sseru start to look really similar, so ignore all this jive]

One thing that Luclin zones offer is the potential for a huge underground area: The Deep, Neth Lair, Echo, FG, Paludal, AR, Grieg's End (underground or big building?), Shar Vahl, Acryllia (think that's Warpstone though), and Shadowdale all are underground iirc, maybe badlands has a huge cavern system under it that paw is just the tip of? Think of the poor WBL farmer who is out tilling one day and faills into The Deep (and just misses that darn bridge) or heaven forbid Shar Vahl and has to endure allergens and rib crushing "biscuit making".

Some of the other zones have "neat" things in them like Twilights hidden area, Scarlets mountain, Shadow Thickets caves, and Katta with its many tiers and cool buildings, but nothing that really fits unless someone found a new island on dalaya or cartographers started asking questions about all these fairly small, perfectly straight, and totally impassable hills.

Other then that a lot of Luclin zones are just big squares of boredom like DSP, ME, Umbral, Tenebrous, The Grey, Hollowshade, Marus Seru- 'oh look, a big rock!'.

I would like to know your reasoning why sseru doesnt look like a city because it was designed to be one!

Most of the zones you listed from luclin were used in the LoM and will not return unless under similar circumstances as sseru.

Thats kind of a weird decision imho. For the mentioned two zone thing and because Ssra doesn't really look anything like a city, merciful, or anything a good god would associate with. On a thread related note Sanctus Seru (which I think used to be in sod, but I do not know in what capacity) and Katta Castellum, two Luclin cities, are not and being used atm and are both cities not half in ruins or full of statues of snake people.

You quoted that they would be using Sseru and then stated that using Ssra Temple would be bad. Are you confused on which one they are using, or am I confused by how you worded your statements?

Edited my above post, dunno why I confused sseru with ssra... well, ok, I do know why lawlz.

On that note SSeru is an awesome place for a God of good and, yes, most certainly a city. I can only hope there aren't any mobs there with a million billion hps that take an hour to kill like on live.
