Instrument augs are a neat idea, but I do not think the idea has really been fully developed. I think there should be more instrument augs added to give a little bit of variety to instruments. I think maybe a few mid level and high level quests to obtain these augs might be fun and might make filling that type 6 slot semi useful.
Just some quick ideas for what augs we may see would be pretty basic but helpful effects such as:
Stun resistance
Mind shield
Saves
Flowing thought
Recovery
Etc
HP/Mana
The very high end aug quest may even add to the instrument modifier itself, say .1 or .2 to the instrument it is currently on.
Really, the effects don't have to be very powerful, I just wanted a little more options when choosing to aug an instrument. The reason I wouldn't find this unbalancing is the fact that I actually use a real instrument maybe 10% of the time I play my bard. I think giving bards useful augs for their instruments may increase the usage of them outside of kiting.
A few bards have also suggested to me that instrument augs should be able to go on any item with an instrument mod. This may not work out so well with the item already having an aug slot, but I think maybe items with instrument mods on them that are range equipable (and otherwise do not have a slot) might have a type 6 slot added to them. If this would be too unbalancing, then that is understable, just wanted to throw it out there.
So, in short, I would like to see a few more quests spread out throughout the tiers for more instrument augs to give our instruments a more unique feel.
