Uber tanks

I always see people talking about getting good tanks for maps and grinding aa's. Does everyone just got info to good tanks being passed around? I was just wondering cause I might have to start watching for them to be passed around to help with slow times grinding.
 
I not saying where they are needed. It just seems most groups log in a tank that is not theirs to tank.

A lot of the time it's about efficiency and easy if you can get more exp/pp faster and easier and you have the ability why not?
 
I totally agree with wyde. People sure enough use tanks. People also use casters, melee dps and healers. These are "archetypes" used to easily identify class roles in groups. So yep, people sure do use them. Just super saiyan.
 
A new 65 tank is enough for the easier tmaps. And once you get the gear from the easier maps, you can do the harder ones.
 
Just popping in to contribute my own noncontribution. I used to log in my rogue to group-heal on t-maps.

Sadly I'm unable to trump super saiyan.
 
Playing an on-tier tank instead of an elite retired tank bot seems like trying to eat steak with an ice cream scooper. Its been this way since pretty much ever.
 
The only time it is more beneficial/fun to playing on tier is when it is your tank. From my experience if it's faster and easier it's better. Can make more exp and pp and progress.

Any system proposed to deal with it is either massively unpopular or simply unworkable, so there it is.

The only way I could think to whittle away at ringers would be to give incentives for doing things without any ringers, probably non-ringer exp bonus and non-ringer extra loot drops from raid mobs. But the incentives would have to be ridiculous to make up for the high kill speeds/minimized downtime and/or complete removal of risk that comes with using ringers. And as always there's the issue of determining who is "on-tier" at any given point, but that would probably be workable one way or another.
 
I agree with you Shimone. I'm not geared real good on any my characters. So it has made my game play fun and easier. If I mained a tank I would probably look at it different.

Using a ranger tank is a personal preference, like taking coffee in your milk and sugar

Also, Fifey is the best uber tanks
