what? :psyduck:

All you need to do is hit a single hotkey on the other keyboard. Its really not that hard at all.

I two-boxed on Live a couple of yers ago using a second computer, with a full second keyboard/monitor/mouse. It was somewhat easier to orchestrate what my guys were doing ( and make sure one of them was not in trouble). However, not being willing to give up my desk space, and not having a second PC to use at the moment, I'm two-boxing on my single PC now. I just added a second gig of RAM, and it does make things much better.

Also, I did what another poster above has done, and I make extensive use of the EQW "switch" key. I bound mine to backslash. Since I am 100% keyboard when I am fighting and moving, it's pretty easy to pop \ with my right hand, cast a spell or something with left, then pop back again. Backslash is also an enlarged key on my keyboard, which helps a little bit. The switch from pushing the \ is instant, and I could pretty much \ # \ to do something on the other toon's hot bar without any delay.

One other keyboard enhancement that I did for myself on Live, that I have yet to duplicate here, is to clear out any and all hotkeys from QWER and ASDF, and set those up as the alternates for the spell gems. That gives you one-button spellcasting access without using up any hot-keys. At one point, I had hacked up a UI window that was two rows of 4 spell gems, just as a visual reminder.

Look up KVM switch

Interesting. Would take some getting used to the moved keys already bound there, but would probably be very efficient.
I innately set my spells up via the hotkeys pretty efficiently without noticing it until much later telling someone about it. I used 1-4 as spells 5-8 which are usually my main twist and most used songs. Simply holding alt with the thumb of my left hand gives me access to all 8 spells without the need to move my hand at all. Ctl for strafing is pressed by palm side of the lowest joint of my little finger. Thumb maneuvers between alt for casting and space. Also the close proximity of tab, tilde, and A.

I do use two complete computers when I 2 box...because those times when I don't 2 box that second computer is handy for using the wiki, shopping online, downloading porn, giving helpful hints on the forum, and playing Team Fortress 2. Yes...I 2 box TF2 and SoD sometimes. If the groups I'm in knew my healer was also playing a pyro or engineer they might be a little scared though...

Anyone know how long it usually takes to get a character moved? I didn't realize until somewhat recently that two characters on one account was a problem (hey, it's free, why do they care?), so I subscribed and sent in a message to get one of my chars moved.

This was over two weeks ago.

Makes me sad :(

Also, KVM for dual boxing? Really? Those usually take a reasonable amount of time to switch inputs, especially if you are actually switching video as well. Alt-tab is quick and (usually) painless.

I really wish EQ didn't capture the mouse. I usually have two clients sitting side by side, so being able to just swing the pointer back and forth would be ideal.
