Turtle Skin Sash

Checking throw Wiki I came across where this sash comes from. Acording ot wiki the sash is droped by a level 63 Turtle thats kinda a mini raid mob ( Lenny the Gargantuan ) Looking at his other 2 drops list this sash seem very lack luster for a 63 raidish mob to be droping.

Turtle Skin Sash
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM
Slot: WAIST
Effect: Haste (Worn) 21%
SV COLD: +5
WT: 0.1 Size: SMALL
Class: ALL Race: ALL

I get the feeling Wiz and item designers wanted to keep haste items for higher levels since most haste items appear to come off 45+ level mobs (normaly in nasty places) This sash just doesn't stack up well vs similar haste items in the game, specialy for the difficulty of the mob.

Some examples:

Emerald Scale Cloak
From SoDWiki
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM
Slot: BACK
AC: 10
Effect: Haste (Worn) 22%
Focus Effect: Duration Increment III
SV DISEASE: +12 SV POISON: +12
WT: 0.1 Size: MEDIUM
Class: ALL
Race: ALL

Off 55+ level mob

Vest of Intangible Speed
From SoDWiki
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM
Slot: CHEST
AC: 16
Effect: Haste(Worn)19%
STR: +3 DEX: +3 WIS: +2 HP: +2
Weight: 3.0 Size: Medium
Class: WAR PAL RNG SHD MNK BRD ROG BST
Race: ALL

Off a 45ish level mob

Bloody Cloak of the Offering
From SoDWiki
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM
Slot: BACK
AC: 10
Skill Mod: Piercing +10 %

HP: +30 MANA: +30
SV COLD: +12
WT: 3.0 Size: MEDIUM

Off a 49th level mob

Looking over the others prehaps some AC and something else (hp/mana/save/effect etc) Just my 2 cp

Emaw's cloak is pretty cheap on the market tho... you dont need to be high level to get it... a couple hunderd pp is normally enough :)

More then a couple hundred, I always seen Emerld cloaks going for 700ish PP.. 800ish PP for Bloody cloak of offering. Saying you can get the emerald cloak rather easy with a group is even more reason the Turtle sash is out of wack.
(should know been price searching for a both as possible upgrades)

the problem with this is that this is a very old mob who hasnt been touched in ages as far as loot goes(as far as i can recal).. this loot was pretty good back in the day.. and that sash was awesome for monks.... as it stands, the sash is a decent small upgrade to the dragonskin sash... which drops in dn... a few stats might help bring up the price a little... but really, the mobs not hard to kill anymore and is farmed pretty well=/ a decent entry level raid mob to get your clerics into heal rotations and your ints to control aggro.. solid melee mob. lot of hp.. dont hit to hard. as far as his loot goes, its just not as useful as it use to be...

Then even more reason to revamp this guy. Any mob that even remotly is raidish should not be droping a no stat (other then 5 cold) haste belt unless the haste is HUGE.

So prehaps the whole mob needs a look at including his drops and his potetial as a raid mob.

Solo, anyway, like 6months-1year ago that emaw cloak would net 2k easy. Now its down to a shamefull 600-700 :(

It\'s a significant upgrade to the Dragonskin Sash. The DS is 15% haste and the TS is 21%. The loots from Lenny (Sash and Staff) are incentives for other people to go help a shaman get the turtle guts for the uber mask I believe.

Not everything in the game will be balanced (because things change), but compared to the other haste items, I think it\'s a good balance. As it is, there\'s not a lot of options for all/all droppable haste items for the waist. I think it\'s easier to get a cloak with a bunch of stats than it is to get a belt. Especially one that\'s lightweight enough for a monk. Typically a monk will use either this or the Emerald Scale Cloak based on what other gear he has.

I realize it\'s not all about monks, but these two items are favored by many monks due to the super low weight. The Bloody Cloak is a bit heavy in my monkly opinion.

You\'ll be seeing less of the Bloody Cloaks around with anti-farming in place I imagine. I was there many many times in my 50\'s and never got one to drop with all the groups I was in. They\'re very rare and only flooded the market due to certain farmers perma-camping Miel B last year.

Consider as well that items for different slots will appear to be weaker than items from the same "tier" that go in other slots. Waist items are generally weaker than BP items, and cloaks.

I hadn't considered the weight issue, that does make this sash nice for monks. I still feel the sash could use alittle upgrade' but your puts are well taken.

...

i dont think the staff wants to go about revamping every raid mob that is out of date=/

This might get picked up in the big item revamp /shrug

tbh the belt is fine imo. Lenny can be duo'd extremely easily at the high end game. Sashes are and will always be on the market. Turtle skin sash is a slight upgrade someone could purchase over the dragonskin sash. Cinn used one way back in the day.

The item is fine. Lenny is not very hard and most of his loot is above average quality for the difficulcy.

I dont have to be.. Im looking at it as a item from x mob thats y level.

Any mob over 60th level shouldn't be dropping items that are worse then a level 49 thats all i was realy pointing out. If lenny is really that easy, then prehaps the level 45 and 49 haste drops need looking at then.

And when every keeps saying easy they keep talking about 65th doing it. I know most of the server seems to be level 65 with twinks. But there is still some people that are not 65. Granted 65 farming something always has to be taken into consideration.

Any more real talk about this is a moot point. Wiz feels the item is fine, thats really the end of the story.

the haste cloak from mielb was added for lowers to be able to farm a haste item rather than gathering a raid together. the belt is really not bad at all. and yea, you should try raiding him.. he really isnt hard. takes very little strategy.. i used more strat trying to take out the 3 mobs for haste cloak at level 50 than is needed for lenny=/

Some items are meant to be sold....

Look at all of FR and even zones like elds

Thats one of the better arguments i have heard for this sash. It sells to vendors for 230pp if I recall, so if we look at it more in that light itss just a Gem Drop, that happens to have other value to lower level players.
