trying to get my friends into SoD

i used to play SoD a lot a year ago and recently i got the urge to hit it up again. im going to be trying to get my friends that i've been gaming with for the past few months to try it out too. the thing is, i made a new character because i cant remember my account info and the starting zones seem so mundane and outdated. my friends are definitely going to be turned away by this and will probably only try the game out for a day or two. what are some things i can tell my friends to keep their interest in SoD? i could tell them that early game is always boring and monotonous but thats not always enough. any tips are appreciated, thank you :keke:

The newb yards should be entertaining enough, for the 2-3 hours you will spend in them. If you get terribly bored though, there are probably 10+ areas with low level mobs scattered about Dalaya, and running a bunch of low levels chars through high level zones certainly isn't boring.

You can also introduce them to the Adept system, they can do their first raid encounter the day they roll their characters if rabb the rat is up, and probably level to 9 and hit th beetle queen and mist stalker within a day or two of character creation.

The newb yards serve their purpose in my opinion, which is to provide a place with a dense population of low level mobs so that new players can learn the move/attack commands etc. They don't really need to be horribly intricate or engrossing because you shouldn't be speding much time there in the frst place.

oh yeah, i totally forgot about Adept mobs. thank you :)

Starfall Quest are awesome, once u hit 20 u can start working on them.

Well the main thing is the skills & spells to get next lvl

Suggest making a hige adventuring band with all their toons, so that they know no one will fly off in levels and leave others behind.
Also the main quest which is an epic challenge if you start early, you can do pieces of it progressively.
Well everything in here is fun for someone who likes a MMO...except the lookout and the network problems that eventually happen :/

I did the whole power gaming thing on live waaaaaaaay back in the day when I still played. I loved doing the quests when I was just starting back. I played an iksar on live, so doing the quests really got me to see Antonica "for the first time". It is an MMORPG, if they dont like questing/killing mobs, they won't like it at all.

Good luck,
