Trouble

Hey, I heard about this game from another board and reinstalled my EQ game and downloaded everything and got it all ready. At first after getting patches done and then finally starting it said I needed to update my drivers, did that. But one time when I didn't download them immediately and tried to play, the window that pops up with the warning for people who have epileptic seizures, well when that window came out it keeps on flashing in and. Or more so like the other windows are trying to come up, I can't click on anything and there's no way to get out unless I alt-tab (doesn't take me to other windows, they'll just flash) so I just hit alt+f4 while alt+tabbing to get out. Anyone know what the deal is? I run it through the SOD Patcher and my EQ patches are up to date so I can't imagine what the problem is... Thanks to any who can help me figure out whats up.
 
Could you give us some of your system information.

Have you updated all your Direct X?

Make sure the new dirvers are correctly installed.

After we have some system information everyone can help you.
 
Nevermind, but thank you, its working now. Now the only problem I have is the screen won't maximize even when i hit alt-enter and there's no sound :(

I have direct X 9 (the latest one) just updated my drivers. I'm running a VPR matrix, pentium IV processor 1.8 gig. I have a RADEON 9600 PRO 128 MB and about 765 bits of RAM. Everything should be fine...
 
The patcher has EQW enabled by default I believe. Go into the patcher options and uncheck it for full screen. As for sound, did you go into the Everquest options and make sure sound is enabled? Do you have the NOSOUND.txt in your EQ directory? If so remove it.
 
Sound and video is fixed. Sweet, thank you :) But whenever I start up my hotbuttons are always half showing, going through the bottom of the screen I cant see...

Can anyone list the controls for me? Its been so long since I've played and my manual of the old EQ game doesn't have anything. I know commands I just want to know how to get my menus up like the options in game menu and stuff.

Now im not the greatest with hotkey things but if u press Alt-W, the main menu bar should pop up somewhere. If you hover the mouse over any of the buttons it should tell you the Alt shortcut. :) simple

I have the same problem, I downloaded the new drivers, got the new direct X, and nothings happening. I have the same video card, what did you do?

Simple way to find that out ingame:

open options (alt-o)
open tab "keyboard"

Then choose UI and you see al the keys. So you cant only customize your keys there, it's a good help, too ;)
