Trio?

The subject of duos has been discussed down to the bone, but what about trios?
For clarification, and not to get banned, I am not talking about three-boxing, but playing with someone (GF) while two boxing.
I know there are endless possibilities when you combine three toons, but I have some fairly strict guidlines to abide by. First, there can be no evil classes (nec, shd, rog), second there are no shorties allowed (WE/HE or taller to play), and third one of the characters must be a dru, pal, or bst.
Given the choice of the three, I'd much rather have the GF play a pally, as her previous video game experience ends somewhere around pacman. If that wasn't complicated enough, personally I am not very good at two boxing, so the third member in the trio will have to be an easy to play class (no offense ment to the classes I list, but honestly they require a little less attention) i.e. cleric, wizard, warrior, etc... because I am not that skilled in the boxing ways, again.
So if you actually followed all that jibber-jabber the situaion is this: pally + something + something easy. Now obviously I am attracted to the perenial favorite class for boxing- Shaman. Paladin and a Shaman is a pretty good combo in their own right. For the relatively low maintance class I was thinking Wizard. The addition of porting, snares, and DPS would be welcome, and I am thinking I wouldn't have to do any of that until the mob is below 50% (so it would be easy- do shaman stuff, then do wizards stuff, next mob).
I would be delighted to hear the input of those much better (all I know is Monkin') at duos/trios/etc... then I.

First: What is wrong with evil & shorties ( evil shorties ftw!)

Second: If you plan on playing with you GF anyway, why not make 2 duo's rather then 1 duo and a single player?

Not even noting that an Iksar is in itself more evil than any halfling rogue for example...anyhow, my recommandation :

You
play pally (like High elf, woah déjà vu)
and play barbarian shaman cause no vah shir/trolls are evil kinda/frogs are a bit small even if they re large. IMO Ogres aren't evil here so you could give a shot too :)

Then you let your GF blow stuff with a wizzy. She'll love it for sure. And wizzy could be dark elf (not that evil here, I'd say more like Morrowind-style dark elves) or human for fast progression, or an high elf but I really don't like HE wizzes :p

Hehe, I can TOTALLY understand the no evil/shorties: I can't roleplay evil worth crap, and I hate not being able to get up stairs or see a banker over the counter without climbing on top.

Paladin/Shaman/Wizard would be a cood combo. But that's the beauty of Paladin/Shaman: you can really pick anything you want for the third! I'll also agree that putting the girlfriend on Wizard would be a good idea. Pure casters and pure melees are much less complicated than hybrids when it comes to learning the game. A monk would also be a good choice, as it would bring pulling skill in addition to DPS.

In my limited exp of getting GFs and sisters of GFs to play; they rarely ended up playing characters I thought they would. When I tried and give them an "easy" class the tended to get bored.
My opinion (hey you asked!) would be give her a bit of a run down of each class then let her decide which she might like best. The only draw back to this is she might not play the class the way she's "supposed" to. IE her cleric will charge into combat a lot, the ranger will nuke lots and swing a 2 hander (my gf). The big thing is just try and relax, enjoy the time with her, and let her learn of her mistakes.

Cheers,
ChunkyDark
