TOV/SK quest armor chest pieces are too damn rare...

I have come to this conclusion after spending the last full week on my warrior in Sirens Grotto grinding aaxp (Sanctums/elementals) and coming up empty.

In this week I have gained....
2 Diamonds
All plate quest pieces except face and chest
About 2 dozen elemental stone necklaces
Copious kelp armor pieces
About 18 aa's

BP's the most major part of the quest armor but the infrequency of their dropping is way out of ballance with the rest of the game.

You could kill Rymaz and get a stormbreaker chest piece or 2 which is better every week. You can go kill a lot of other mobs and get decent bp's too (poair). That's a gold mine considering in total I have only seen...

3 plate bp's
3 chain bp's
1 leather bp
0 robes

....TOV/SK armor drop my entire tenure on WR. Through all the days grinding in SK/Mielechs/Sirens/TOV. Through the countless SK and TOV raids. Through 2 L65's and 2 L60 characters. These things simply do not drop except during a nine planet alignment on christmas eve during leap year. :?
 
Never saw any bps or legs drop in sg the whole time me and oifer camped it.

We camped the seahorses and water elementals near zone out to ww for almost 10 lvls. I also powerleveled 3 chars in sg and never once saw one.

However I have seen quite a few bps drop in seb as well as dn and sk. I believe named have a higher chance of dropping bps as I have seen the majority of my bps drop from named mobs in sk and seb. I do remember having a leather bp rot off of blademaster once in seb.

Unless there's a bug somewhere in the drop code (I think Wiz has been over that particular section of code at least twelve times), then it's just consistant bad luck.

You have a point, though. Most people nowadays are just saying "screw it" to the Dragonhorn/Stormkeep quest armor. Generally it's not worth the effort to get the first pieces. The ornate pieces, however, are worth it. Take from that what you will. :p
 
just adding my 2cp but grinding lvls 52 - 58 in DN has netted me...one silk cloak.../cheer i guess its my bad luck but the slimes/beetles/spiders/snakes/rats drop mostly gems, whitch are good, but i have more than enough of them, i want armor ;(
 
I think you just have to stick it out and keep tring. I thing that they aren't too hard to get with the exception of the Chest Peice which I think should be a very rare drop considering how incredibly amazing it is ornate.

In DN alone, I've gotten almost all the quest armor peices, including the chest peice and I don't go there often. So I would say the same thing as Dujek, most likely bad luck.

(The chest peice I got after about 10 minutes of soloing there) I was quite surprised at that though.
 
I have lived in SG, DN, been on lots of raids. I have never seen the Robe drop. I only know one person who has the robe "one"

I think you are wrong Elitra, the stuff is to rare to drop, the caster items are rare compared to Melee stuff. I have seen at least 4 or 5 BPs and every other item to that set, the caster stuff on the other hand is way harder to get . Its not a matter of luck its the way the loot table is made.

Because of the rarity of this armor, most people don't bother. and on the whole other items that drop are better then the quest stuff anyways. Only item i use is the gloves.

When you get your armor upgraded to ornate, not much is better then that. I think that it is good that it is rare because of how amazing the gear can get (especially the chest peices). I think that the int caster stuff might be exceptionally rare, along with the platemail BP....but again....when it's upgraded it's insanely good armor to have. I think that it's balanced, considering how good the gear can be. That's just my opinion.

P.S. Kindar, you play in Sirens and DN more than anyone I know, and if you haven't gotten the gear yet, that's just freaky, because I've gotten almost all mine and I barely EVER group in those zones.... in fact, I've let alot of peices rot because I was always getting doubles. Perhaps it's an int caster thing, as you use the silk, and I the chainmail. Maybe the loot table for Plate vs Chain vs Silk is different :?
 
:mad: how did youg et a BP in ten minutes when about 10 days of slaughtering the entire front/tunnel spawn cycle and the first part of rat city yealds me one freakin' cloak /sigh....oh well, i cant beleive some peoples luck, i even went to SG for one day and had plate greaives, and chain arms, mask, and arms drop, plus a leather shoes, and no cloth. that was a full day in SG, bad luck? maybe...
 
Seriously....ten minutes..and I've gotten like..3 cloaks, about 80 wrists, 4 necks, etc... it must have been freaky luck...this all wasn't in one day though, over a period of time, but i've never had to even think of farming or anything like that... weird luck
