Tmaps

Hello,

On march 5th, around 3:00 est a group of people from my guild completed a treasure map in Sea of Swords. Things were going good and after a few waves we got the chest to spawn. After clearing all the mobs that spawned with the chest we proceeded to try and bash it open. We received a message telling us that "You must defeat all the guardians before bashing the chest open." We were really surprised when we got this message because we killed every mob of every wave of the treasure map. We tried petitioning a gm to see what the issue was but none were available and the chest despawned shortly after. Afterwards I was running around the zone tracking to see if any other groups had any unfinished treasure maps with mobs currently spawned. I managed to find 3 mobs which were up and obviously from a failed treasure map attempt. So it appears that we were unable to bash open our treasure chest because of another group not completeing a treasure map which was previously being done. I realize that we most likely wont get any of the loot back, and thats kinda a kick in the nuts, but it would also be nice if this issue was addressed and fixed as its clearly not supposed to happen this way.

If you need any of the logs or anything feel free to contact me. Hope this issue can get fixed because its very frustrating, especially at 3:00 in the morning.

You might have tried /ooc'ing or /shouting to find out if there were any unfinished tmaps in the zone. Had you known in advance, you could have found them, killed them, and gone back to get your treasure.

But yeah, this actually happened to my group yesterday on a Tmap in the Oasis. We kindly asked the other tmap group to finish a wave and let us bash open the chest before continuing. Of course, it worked just fine.
 
Yes, we could of done that, but what if the other group wasnt online any more? And we shouldnt have to kill other people's stuff to open our own treasure chest. It is clearly a bug and I think it should be addressed.

It's a long known bug, in general petitioning will get it resolved. Without that as an option, /ooc or /shout and trying to track down the mobs is a reasonable alternative.

Alright, maybe shout/oocing is an alternative sometimes, but during non-peak hours (3 am est) its kinda hard to contact someone that would know anything about it. Forgive me if this is a long-known bug as its never happened to me before and I have never even heard of it happening before. I am not asking for the loot back or anything, I am asking to see if its possible to fix this bug since it is obviously a bug. Thanks for your input corporate, however, maybe if you would have read my post fully you would of seen that the suggestions you offered werent really viable options.

How about despawning mobs from failed t-map attempts after some time? An hour or two perhaps? Or if it's possible, linking the mobs to the chest itself so other tmap attempts in zone wont interfere.
 
Thats a great idea Thorodel. I was kinda thinking along the lines of despawning mobs from tmaps after a certain amount of time as well. Is there any way this could be implemented? I mean maybe even like an hour long or two hour long despawn timer on the mobs itself to ensure that a group could actually handle them. I dunno, just a thought.
 
A fix for this will come with the tmap revamp. For now, you'll have to get ahold of a GM.

P.S. Is there any way that we could possibly get the treasure box back or is it lost?
