This week in wiki news...

Rari

Game Master
... Spells ... all necromancer spells have been reparsed with my parser. the necromancer spells page itself has been reformatted to better support the new formatting. The (spell / type / target) bar will not be replaced for a bit, since its a template shared across all spell pages, but otherwise, face-lift on the page as a whole. I'm about to get started on cleric.

All Runic, Archaic, Relic, and Artifact spells were also re-parsed (within the last few days.) Those links will take you into the new categories where they can be found, which feature at-a-glance reference links at the top. There is also a new categorization system which reflects the categorization found in game (when right clicking on an empty spell gem.)

I spent last week working on making a completely wiki-based parser for this project, that can not only display our spell parses (hopefully!) more clearly than the old SoD stand-alone parser, but also gives output actually in wiki code. Parsing and saving spells with this new tool is an ongoing project, and shouldn't drag out over the year as items reformatting has. If anyone is interested in helping with the spell parsing, please ask - it takes some amount of wiki know-how (not much, I dumbed it down pretty well) and a decent amount of time commitment, and I will need to make certain resources available to anyone working on it. Also, not particularly necessary, but yeah, feel free to volunteer if you'd like to.

Anyway, just figured I'd toss something up here, to let ya'll know what's cooking, since things might look a bit strange for a bit (I know the minor changes to the spell table created some big, angry red letters on some of the older spell pages.) And I know ya'll like to know what I'm up to when I start flooding recent changes on the wiki (I only put a short note in the wiki news about it.) I hope you all like the newness - its not visually that different from the old-ness, but functionally significant.

Hope you all enjoy it.

Good work there!

I notice the Murk necro spell is missing from the list, and not sure if that's intentional. Given the how you go about getting it, putting it in other may be necessary.

Good call, old chap - moved Runics to a subheading under 'Ikisith spells' along with 'Gruplok spells' (and added Scent of the Murk heh) - should solve it? More a matter of me not sleeping properly for a week than any master plan, I'm afraid. As has been my habit in the past, I'm using Necromancer as a trial for formatting, so any issues that can be fixed there, the better for later!

Edit: Refuge and Gruplok spells now added. - I didn't have a record of them, had to bug my frog for the names. Thanks for the heads-up Cyzaine.

They aren't showing up for some reason i haven't figured out yet since I switched it to sort by the class/level column in those categories. I switched them back to the basic format, and boom, they be back - I'll fiddle with it some more later today!

New week, update with links!

The level/class column in special spell categories has been completely replaced with individual, sortable rows. Took way too much time to code, but I hope you all find it a little more useful.

Now for something a little more fun... Links!

:EDIT ALL DONE

Hybrid classes
Bard
Beastlord
Paladin
Ranger
Shadowknight

Priest classes
Cleric
Druid
Shaman

Pure caster
Enchanter
Magician
Necromancer
Wizard

I will update the 'dones' as they happen, but as it stands, Thade is working on finishing up Bard (nearly done!) then moving on to Magician. Meanwhile, I'm going to get cracking on the rest of the Hybrids. The links above will take you to the Class spells pages. All spells for classes marked as 'done' have been re-parsed with the new parser, and their class pages have been updated to the slightly new formatting. Bard class 'songs' page will be losing the shitty looking graphics that indicate whether or not they are fully/partially/not-at-all affected by instrument modifiers, but the spell pages themselves will note which effects are affected, line by line, with a small green dot (this dot, on mouse-over, reveals its purpose.) :toot:

linx fixt! I was pretty tired by the time I was adding the links :p
I started on Magician last night while Thade finishes up Bard (going to be able to mark it done probably by the time I finish typing this though!) but Mage has about as many spells to do as SHD/PAL/BST combined, so ... yeah! We're making serious headway here peoples, but I'm not going to be parsing more till tonight.

Beastlord should be all better on the category pages. Just a silly oversight on my fault - coding that chunk was exhausting, but I apologized to all of the beastlords out there ;)

Also, since I'm sure it will be asked, Rogue/Monk/Warrior are included in the formatting for the sake of AA effect parses, which were reparsed around the same time as the Relics/Runics/etc (and while ROG really doesn't need to be there for that either, it would just be weird to leave out the one class :p)

Bump for player class spells project completion. If you find any errors or want to make any suggestions and aren't sure how to edit the wiki yourself, please let me know.
