Things need to be less obnoxious.

i want to level off content, not repetition

Mister Believer, do yourself a favor. This is not snide or sarcastic. Ask anyone who knows me, I tell the truth.

The truth is you should quit. You would deprive a few of some laughs, but seriously.

e-q = TIME SINK + REPETITION.

It's a fact of it's existence. Nothing you, myself, wiz, or congress could ever do will change this fact.

So if e-q is based upon repetition, and you don't like said repetition, ergo you will not like e-q. Thus why play?

On a side note, I don't know of any games that are NOT based upon repetition. Zero. Online or offline. None. Think on this and be dismayed.

So, let me get this straight:

No one likes pure grinding. Yet you cling to the assertion that this is supposed to be a mind-numbing grind. At the same time, you also want to increase your playerbase while militantly ignoring the above. And i'm still typing this as though i expect your langauge centers to still be capable of handling logic, even though years of Game playing has long-since eroded such faculties. I really might as well just be typing song lyrics here. There is a flower within my heart. Daisy, Daisy. Planted one day by a glancing dart. Planted by Daisy Bell. Whether she loves me or loves me not, sometimes it's hard to tell. Yet I am longing to share the lot of beautiful Daisy Bell. Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage. I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.

I hope you get your balls pulled off so you don't reproduce. You seem like a twat who's still juvenile enough to plug your ears the minute you hear "fuck".

You're not commited to making anything better, you just rant like a child as soon as something doesn't go your way. Completely aggro-free newbie areas? What the hell? Why not just ask for an instant bump to level 10 while you're at it?

Because i don't want an instant bump to 10, retard. What part of my post implied that i am too bashful to not ask for it in no uncertain terms if that was what i really wanted? No. You simply toss out that strawman because it's easier than actually fucking reading what i said. You picked the wrong person to toss that sort of chaff at, bonzo.

The newbie levels are supposed to be to learn the game, and that includes learning to deal with aggro mobs.

Oh good, here's the part where i have to repeat what i already said, and to someone who just called me dumb, no less. Yeah, ace, how about you give me random aggro when the player actually has some class abilities to actually DEAL with them? Or is your genius opinion that throughout the entire game, people should deal with aggro by running to the guards? Because that's all you can do about aggro as a new char. Yep, level 65, run to the guards. Sound gameplay there, glad you got us used to that staple element so quickly. Can tell you're a real thinker with a crystal clear master plan for game balance.

I also love how you rant about HP regen when there's bandages for a few copper a piece that heal large chunks of HP, especially on the lower levels.

I love how you act like it's a viable fix despite being only useful at higher levels. Which, by definition, you do not have starting out. I used them on a lower-HP rogue and quickly forgot about them due to how obviously worthless they were at actually healing me. HENCE.

Firstly, way to insult the people you're trying to convince your idea is a better one.

Yes sir! Just for you! Wiz, get onto that right away! While youre at it, put 1 million point DD procs on every item, and make them proc 101% of the time, and drop the mobs HP to like... 2... we don't like to wait for anything while were playing.

YEAH! Or, you like downtime, so you obviously would really super-like having two whole weeks of res sickness! Because assuming you want that extreme is totally awesome! We don't want to have any playing while we're waiting, now do we?

Um, yeah, i'm pretty sure that IS a threat, but I don't think anyones gonna care.

No, little Billy, it's an inevitable outcome. If i shoot you in the head, you will die. You dying is not a threat. So far, actually, it'd be a mercy. But the point i'm getting at is that it would be a logical conclusion to getting shot in the head. Sort of like how whatever gibbering bullshit the rest of you come up with next is the logical conclusion to someone expecting you to use your fucking heads.

The Suggestions and Requests section is there for just that, but whining and swearing like a child won't get you anywhere. I doubt the servers going to be changed just for one person complaining that they don't like putting effort and thought into levelling up.

That swearing and so-called "whining" is surrounded by writing better than anything you'll ever be able to manage, mongoloid. What won't get me anywhere is attempting to explain the concept of "fun gameplay" to Game losers who likely spent their live time being increasingly dissatisfied, yet cling to the same concepts that made them miserable.

Uh, yeah. Plenty we could to to change that "fact". It's called "content", which as far as this server is concerned is apparently restricted to some half-assed lore that you might as well just slap up as a fanfic for all you idiots are going to do with it. You could directly change "E-Q = Time Sink + Repetition" by creating content.

Holy shit. Are you honestly this stupid?

On a side note, I don't know of any games that are NOT based upon repetition. Zero. Online or offline. None. Think on this and be dismayed.

Explains a hell of a lot if you think anything but poorly-designed MMOs are specifically based on repetition. I have never seen such a lovely hobby described in such a moronically grotesque way by such a confused jackass.

Okay, kid, enough trolling from you. Get off the server and go back to screaming angrily in other corners of the internet.

If you are in fact a day older than fourteen, then I suggest you start every morning with a huge dosage of valium because jesus are you ever pathetic in your little rants.

except for the fact that i used bandages every level up till my 30s when my hybrid heals started to outheal them, hell i was even main-healing with strictly bandaids at lvl 20 in an all melee group against red mobs

once you take some time to skill up to a decent amount you'll see how useful they are

No, he won't. I banned him for slurring basically the entire staff at this point. I guess he'll have to find something else highly important like which pokemon is the best of all pokemons to get this upset about. :toot:

i totally agree! liam should NOT be allowed to reproduce at all! no, not at all! hell, no!!!!! just imagine a young liam the II. OMG!  :monocle:

use our fucking heads? i am sorry, but our fucking heads are only full of repeated grind. don't expect us to use our fucking heads for something else. please understand, that we're just mindless e-q losers.  :(

you can't expect a mongoloid to write as well as you do!

staff, ADD FUCKING CONTENT instead of half-assed lore!

Holy shit. Are you honestly this stupid?

sadly, yes  :(

too bad this guy is banned now, i would have loved to read more of his suggestions... they inspire us to make a better game. i also would have liked to learn more about good writing from this guy.

edit: i hope nobody takes this post of mine serious and everybody has a good laugh...

edit 2: alright, i admit that the statement that liam shouldn't be allowed to reproduce was dead serious. next patch message i wanna read: "fixed liam by pulling his balls off. liam is no longer able to reproduce. this was a necessary change to reduce the retarded downtime at low levels as well as to enhance class balancing and to generally save the world" ;)

If it works the same as when I left a while ago, you can't exactly "heal" with bandages any more though. That was a sad day when it changed. :(

They were handy for down time, but they they aren't useful as "heals"...unless things have changed. :)

Quite honestly, I have played games containing quests for a pretty long time.

I've found that the newfangled "keep track of quests inside the game for you" is pretty much "take it or leave it" -- usually a notebook or a piece of scrap paper will keep track of most quests, when my memory can't do it.

Yes. Paper. And pencil. Or a pen if you can't afford a pencil. Or a needle and your own blood if you can't afford a pen. You can even write on your own flesh if you can't afford paper... (Aren't I helpful?)

Second -- the aggro isn't random. You get aggro from mobs if:
1> They are kill-on-sight mobs that get too close to you. We aren't talking about "line of sight" -- we are talking about "they get close enough to smell your bad breath".

2> They are "buddy up" mobs that see you beating on your buddy. Once again, this isn't "line of sight" -- it is "close enough to smell your bad breath".

You can see the mobs before they aggro on you. You can find areas where mobs tend not to wander by randomly as often. You can learn how to avoid the possiblity of a chaotic additional monster to fight. And use some tic-tacs.

And finally, you can set yourself up in a place where you can deal with a chaotic (NOT random) extra mob -- zonelines, guards, etc.

This is what is known as "skill". Just as there is skill in poker (where which cards you get is random), there is skill in dice-simulators of sufficient complexity. :p

Third, sometimes downtime is a good thing. I like being able to sit back and relax sometimes. Downtime also provides a means of punishment between "death" and "victory" -- you won, but you did it inefficiently. (and yes, you want games that can punish you -- at least, assuming you don't play EVERY game on god mode...)

Forth, almost every game is based off "learning in a safe environment". Learning is nearly impossible without repetition. Some games have more repetition, some games have less. Some games are shorter, some games are longer.

Play whatever you want, you will allways be a n00b. You*re born as a n00b and there is no hope that will ever change.

And btw, you're the dumbest piece of shit I ever come across, be it in real life or in online games. And that means something, I played on Antonius Bayle.

So, back into your hole.

P.S. Just practicing for the new forum section, where this thread would belong. I meant what I said, but if you want me to edit, go ahead

Off the regular topic, but the original poster is banned so he wont mind.

Pikachu is really the gay lover of ash isnt he? Never really got that show figured out.

(am so kidding...Go Pikachu! I chose you!)

I was puzzled by the changes, and so were most of my guildies. Supposedly these changes were made with smaller guilds in mind, but to us as a smaller casual guild they were of no help, in fact we saw our attendance drop to the point that we don't have enough people to do anything.

Having rules changed after you have played the game for a fairly long time feels like having a rug yanked from under your feet, a lot of us hoped that a new server would be started with the new rules, and this server would be left alone. That being not the case was a disappointment. But this is your sandbox, so we can't really complain anyway.
