The Translocator in Thurgadin..

Or rather, the lack thereof....

I haven't seen a thread yet on this issue, and I think it's only because people are just as confused as I am. Why was he removed, what is the reasoning? I know there are plans to make Thurgadin a "mid-to-high-level quest zone", but what in the name of God does this have to do with removing the translocator? Perhaps I am missing something, but I know most others feel the same way about the change: it's obnoxious and just makes WR more tedious.

If the future plans are to make The North accessible only by running through Everfrost and through port spells, then traffic to The North will slowly decline until it becomes completely dead, like a blood-deficient limb becoming gangrene and eventually falling off. I certainly hope this isn't the case, because even running there, some classes cannot traverse Stormkeep if they are KoS there.

So my question is: Is the Thurgadin translocator, or any variation of him, going to make a return to the game? I would have thought that if Thurgadin was going to be revamped, you would want more traffic through there, not less. Even so, why was he removed before any major changes were made to the zone?

Please, Wiz, enlighten us. We're all very curious and confused about travel to The North.



P.S. This is not a rant, and not intended to sound mean. I am just curious, as are my fellow players.
 
If they make the hunting and XP out there worth it, i'm pretty sure people wouldn't mind the increased travel time.. It could add more to a quest by actually having to travel there. One day maybe they will get rid of SoW and such, and only allow Selos (at a much reduced rate..) and Run Speed AA's and maybe travellers boots..

And take out ports all together except for the magical planes.. o_O

I'd like it if that was where this is heading because travelling across the land is a very fun process. It can get old after a while, but that is only because people are used to conveniance. At this rate, it would make horses and such worth it. :)
 
So does this mean Crystal Caverns is no longer a low-mid level zone? I just came back to WR and i've got a 24 shaman looking for a spot to go. Was planning on heading to CC but after seeing there's no way there now and reading this thread.. no longer possible? Where should I go instead?
