Tears of Elael (CoD Event)

Having already got 3 mana clickies (pots rods and dretch worm) and mana not being an issue on raids, I simply find this a particularly uninspiring offering.
For the sake of argument what would you suggest as an alternate reward.
 
I find that difficult to believe.

Mage casting is SO slow that I will go oom so long after all other casters and healers that the raid will be long dead. This is completely independant of which Mob you are killing. This is precisely the point that Valdian was making.

I am not claiming that it is completely useless. On particularly intensive groups or recovering from a wipe it might have an occasional use.

So it might be less useful to the Mage class compared to the other casters/healers etc. -- so what??

The weapon rewards aren't even close to being equally useful to all classes (Ranger, Bard, and Rogue rewards being of marginal use).

idk how you cast but i run oom on some figts /clears and the tear is a inster ub to the worm
 
I really, really like my Tear of Elael. I use it often. It's a really nice thing to have on raid encounters. I hope it is not changed/replaced from this suggestion.

Maybe Valdian can weigh in on it for magicians.
 
Well I hear what people say about this item and would certainly not wish to deprive them of something they favour.

However it does not have to be that way to benefit all.

You could
(a) Have a different mage only item or
(b) Be given one item that you could exchange for another if you would prefer.

Also note I am not looking for something overwhelming. Just something that is as useful to a Mage as you are claiming this is for other classes.

Just to emphasise my point - In Spires last night we downed 4 names. On 2 of them I finished with over 25% mana and on the other 2 in excess of 95% mana. This was with virtually continuous casting and NO mana clickies.

Then what is useful, Rorne opened up for you to make a suggestion on a better item. What would be better then it is today in your opinion?

State the effect, the stats, the slot to go in and whatever else, just dont say "something that is as useful to a mage as for other classes". A real suggestion in other words.

Though Sin has posted that it is good for mages, I mean he is a mage and likes the item as far as I can tell...
 
Well as I wrote in my original post I would be looking for something that improved caster survivabilty.

So I would suggest something along the lines of a self (or self plus pet) only rune or a shortish duration boost to AC and resist stats, again for self or self plus pet. The item to be clickable from inventory or maybe ammo slot.

I do not claim to have the expertise to come up with suitable numbers, nor do I wish to lay myself open to further abuse for trying to get overwhelmingly good items.

Last time I checked, you lived in a constitutional monarchy, not that I see what relevance this would have here.

And if you want to expres your views on anything, please take the time to be able to express an informed oppinnion about something, ideally by having obtained and tested whatever you want to talk about.

Your uninformed posts are annoying for the majority of people around these parts.

Therefore I am perfectly competent to comment on the usefulness or otherwise of yet another such clicky.

However, I am not sure of your experience in playing a high end Mage in SoD that you are competent to judge my views as being ill informed.

Due to constantly talking to an even-higher-end mage then you are, yes, I think I am competent.
 
I hate to be this guy but someone has to be this guy. Spires content is nothing to measure your mana intensity on. At all. Neither are those first three/four? Fights in turruj. Some people have tried very hard to stress in this thread that shit changes drastically. So right now you are complaining about an item you do not have in poorly chosen scenario (thaz2.0)
 
Lets talk about me and my needs for a second, I whole heatedly believe that ammo should be added to all quest rewards, Warrior Sythe, Hidden Hand, Ect, All but the bard one that's already a clickie, and have there proc rate only be at 1.5%-2% well in the ammo slot. It saddens me that the rogue reward has a lower ratio then a dagger that's 100x easier to obtain, and also it saddens me more to know most these weapons besides the warrior one, will be bagged indefinitely.

Edit: Oh idk how but i forgot about the monk one, I mean that ones totally legit and idk about adding a shadow proc to your ammo slot but, i still believe like the ranger/rog one particular would be totally a good candidate for having ammo added to them and a lowered proc rate well in ammo.

Extensive parsing says rogue dagger wins over spire dagger every time you are not hitting a golem maybe. It also doesn't rape you on damage shields. Don't get me wrong I think all the non scythe weapons kind of suck most especially the knight one. It also has a big problem of being a backstab modifier that goes in a slot with many many better items.

There are fights coming up where

(a) I am not dead because healers and other casters have run out of mana
(b) The mage has run out of mana
(c) Getting 400 mana from a clicky (somewhat less than one nuke) is going to make any difference

he's talking from experience because he has done those fights.

sry but idk how you cast ther are figts wer i run oom and i still have 1kmana more then you so how can u not run oom ?????? i use the cliker on many figts and allways on cd in exp / 6man

These are the big next tier fights coming up.

You WILL have mana issues as your guild progresses through them, and some you will even continue to have mana problems after they are on farm status.

I can understand that mana is less of an issue for mages on raids overall, but every item is not equally balanced for every class and the fact that you endlessly post about these items is really annoying. Its even more scary that things actually change in response to your post - like making taking modrod2.0 from being an item EVERYONE had use for and making pet classes the only casters to benefit.

Using this line of logic -- if mana is so useless to you, then why don't you aug HP? And why are you limiting your threads to only this clicky when you should be complaining about every item that gives you more mana than you apparently need? (Edit: please don't)
