Tarx The Stormfeather loot

This Adept's loot needs some serious look over. The ring has a recomended lvl of 40, while the max eng is 35. Also the cloak he drops for the classes that can wear is not an upgrade from his younger brother Goretusk, trading AC and a good chucnk of HP/AC for some stats, and frankly the cloak is just like the Cloak of tradition so it really is not impressive at all(personally I think this cloak should be ALOT better than tradition for its rarety and difficulty). The weapon he drops could use a touch up too compared to the other Adept mobs of lower level it falls behind specially when the stats and ratio cannot balance with the bad proc that negate whatever rune the tank may have(maybe better ratio or stats). Thanks for reading.

Might I suggest posting this in the Suggestions and Requests thread, and including specific details (copy/paste the info on the items you are referring to, and details on the mobs they drop from).

Also, I would like to point out a problem with Tarx. His AoE was changed from avoidable to unavoidable in the recent past. This has been verified by Tarx-veterans. In the two attempts we did, ALL of the casters minus one healer died before the adept was at 80%.

Not a single non-healer was able to get a single spell off during the fight. The healers who were designated to heal the groups of casters were out of mana by 90%, and died.

I tested the AoE range, and it went from almost the zoneline, to half way between the shore and the first island. Given that his loot is...lackluster at best, I feel this encounter needs a strong looking into. :(

I don't feel that it was Wiz's intention to make level 35-36 newbies to get raid-quality resist gear for such a minor adept. :(

Btw, the trick of hiding by the hill, using LoS, etc, doesnt work against the AoE. :(

this would explain why Kaid and my group failed him those many many levels ago.

I knew at the time that something was being weird about that AoE, and now I've got confirmation.

Yeah, consider me a third witness of his unbalanced abilities.

His AE is supposed to be that way, what needs reduction is his other stats, HP etc.

Well, are we talking about nerfing him down to 1/4 his hitpoints? I was not exagerating when I said ALL of the non-healing casters, and MOST of the healers, were dead before 80%, due to his AE hitting ever, what, 10 seconds, for 122 damage?

Yeah, you're supposed to sort of heal them. :haw:

Thanks for upgrading the cloak, Happy with it now, 45 mana is awsome and now it is worth from switching out the goretusk cloak or the cloak of tradition. Highly suggest you try it.

LOL i know Wiz ;p

The problem is, the healers were OOM healing all 6 people in the group. They were out of mana pretty quickly :(

How hard does he hit the MT? I havent' heard, so I dont know how many healers it would take dedicated just to him, but it sounds like one cleric in each group doing group heals would be able to handle the AE no problem.

After that, the main thing you'll want is Major DPS. Given that he seems to be a caster class, he's probably pretty squishy, so burn him down faster and you won't need so many heals.

P.S. I know you can't hide from the AE, but is it possible to resist it?

Yes I resisted one of his AE's on my wizard. (Gallart)

Yes we had clerics, but again they were OOM pretty quickly considering the amount of HP Tarx HAD (nerfed now i suppose?).

The "Dps" consisted of a bunch of mages, wizards, and Necros, all of which died before spell #1 was even cast. :(

Well THAT is your problem...you had a bunch of wussy casters! Get some melee classes in there!
