Targeting Ring Went Poof!!

You will just have to do without, like in the original game. the target of your name flashes, that is enough in most(all) cases.

I really just wanted to see how they looked for the most part cause the screen shots for some of the custom target rings looked really nice. In any case no biggie maybe I can find a way to customize the UI font on the mobs at least to make them more easily readable.

Some people make target ring under ATI work on linux and not on windows ...definitely some software stuff. Maybe using 3rd party drivers under windows ?
Anyway it s weird that most Geforce work (I heard a 7900 displays it) andnot this 6800, you re not the first one.

I have no idea if this will help with the discussion. Mine does not work. BUT in some zones it will make a guest appearance out of place. Recently Ive seen it in PoAir, it will float way far away, and be fairly small. It also seems to sometimes go the opposite direction of the person I have targeted, and stands on end. So mine is out there somewhere probably in every zone, but its not where it should be heh.

I read on this today. It is not my post. I took it off another board.

Well after a few days of looking over all the problems with the Target Indicator, this is what I have found.

1) Target Indicator is not going to work with these Video Cards: (All Unsupported with Game)

A) ATI Rage Pro
B) Intel Onboard (828**)
C) Rage Mobility (Laptop)
D) TnT2

I'm sure that I'm missing a few, but you can find a complete list of supported video cards HERE

2) We're looking into an issue with the Radeon 9600 cards that dont' seem to be displaying the Target Indicator. If you have a Radeon 9600, take a look in your DBG.txt file in your the Game directory and see if you have this line:

Quote:
Forcing No TnL in t3dEnumDevices().

If you do see this line, then you have what we're looking into at this time. Please be patient with us as we try to resolve this problem as quickly as possible.

At this time, if you have a Radeon 9600 card, I'm suggesting you add the line: UseTNL=1 ...to your EQClient.ini file to see if that helps. Thank you all for the assistance in resolving this matter.

i have in my file:
00000:Found adapter #0 - RADEON X300 Series

00001:Forcing No TnL in t3dEnumDevices().

We use an old version of the client that doesn't support those video cards. That you saw it on Live means nothing, since they've likely corrected those issues. Certain video cards just don't display right with what we use.

any new updates on this issue?
