Tanks vs pets

Wondering if it was possible to implement the option to NOT target pets (i.e. for Tanks on raids)? Sort of along the lines of turning corpses off or blockbuff (/cm block<petname>

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking here. If you mean the ability to make /target not target pets, that's not possible.

well sort of, having a /cm or something to turn pet targeting on/off for times like when on raids and mob gets loose and into the rest of raid and you go to try and target it to pull it off and all you get are friggin pets. I didn't think this was possible but wanted to ask on the very very small chance it might be.

p.s. Mages, your swarm pets suck :p

The client handles targeting and we can't change the client.

On the other hand, it would be possible to make it so all pets are constantly invisible to you, which would make them invalid targets for the client. But that might have weird consequences; the client would literally not know the pets exist (I believe) so it could get confused when they do things.

Is it possible to make it so target nearest NPC won't target The shitstorm pets? Maybe flag them to be the same type as a regular pet.

The new client provides a ton of targetting improvements. We are working to upgrade to it, but unfortunately we can not change our current client to make targetting easier until then.

Zaela's idea is actually really cool from a technical perspective, but I worry that a command to make pets have no packets sent to clients would confuse clients whenever a pet does something noticable in game.

This would probably just break everything as soon as you send swarm pets through walls.
