Sword and Shield pets...erm...without the shields please?

Hey, Just wondering if it would be possible to remove the shield on enchanter pets that are high enough level to duel weild, and instead let them be summoned with a sword/spear/flail or whatnot, as on eqLive?

I know that it is easy to carry around a backpack full of daggers that cost like 2gp but that takes up space, uses lots of weight, etc. If it wouldn't be to hard, this would be a really nice change to lighten my backpack on raids :p

P.S. and correct me if i am wrong, but giving your pet another weapon(so he duel wields) *almost* doubles his dps, correct? I just want to make sure this isn't a total waste of my time.

Pets dw even without two weapons.

Only advantage to two weapons is more procs.
 
Ok, first off, pets will duel weild even if they have a sword and a shield equipped? That doesn't seem normal, you mean that the shield acts as a weapon for it? If that is the case then:

please please please please just for the aesthetic purposes <3 <3 <3

you have to admit that the ancient guardian of Jayla would look amazing with two of those bad boy swords :p
