CoH has this, and I think EQ's next expansion will have something similar - A command to let a higher-level character group with a lower-level character, by bringing the higher-level character's power down.
Like a guild full of level 65's, and a level 30 member, it would be great if the 65's could have the abilities of a level 30 and still group with the lower level.
Of course, this would have problems here with the Adept mobs, and I don't know how level-required items would be handled. And I'm not sure if SoD is still being worked on, or whether the main focus is Dawntide?
