Suggestion: get rid of "critical resists"

Which is an aptly dubbed name I give to critical nukes that are actually below the normal amount. I'm sure wizards know what I mean. It's not like this is a huge problem, but I'm just throwing it out there as something that really doesn't make much sense.

Yes... that makes perfect sense... make any critical nuke unresistable... considering with AAs a crit nuke is like what? 1 in 5?

gratz in thought followthrough

Grats on being able to see things from another persons point of view...

I didnt know that they could get crits so frequently, being only 55. It makes sense to me having played thus far. But thanks zodium for the great reply. You too iaeolan. :D

Well, we could do it, but then we'd just have to decrease your damage in another way since this would up it. Why bother?

halt, stop :D i like it just the way it is now :)

i guess those guys just need to get themselves some nice CHA items to reduce the resist risk :)

Only rare ultimate and primal blasts are never resisted. Crits are common later on in the game with AAs and gear(readily available is the use of summoned necklace of searfire). This is balanced.

If the spell is resisted partially and it crits it should hit for at least the base damage of the spell. That i think would be a welcome change and not too unbalancing.

I think that its fine as is. Sure, it sucks to get a crit for 50 when the spell normally has a base damage of 2500, but its still double what you would have had otherwise; and considering the common nature of crits in the endgame, is good enough.

Could the game lie, and refuse to label any spell that does less than normal damage as a crit?

Keep the number and calculation exactly the same. But, after you work out the damage, if the damage was less than "normal" damage for the spell, the spell doesn't claim to crit.

It gets rid of 50 damage crits without changing the balance of the game in any way. ^_^

And then the poofs run in about how "they nerfed the crit rate".

They even have mathmatical proof where they recieve a certain percentage fewer crits than before!

Change the text from...
"Iaeolan delivers a critical blast! (2)"
to...
"Iaeolan delivers a... wtf lame! (2)"
when the damage is below spell base.

We could then sympathize and simultaneously laugh at the person who casted.
