starfall 2.0

In my opinion it's just useless, clerics already have a no drop shield, rangers got there bow, and stuff like that.

Most 60+ people are in a guild and already have better stuff then a "Starfall 2.0" most people don't even have there starfall.

I think there would certainly be demand for a starfall 2.0 to be completed around level 50ish. And for more 60+ quests. If you have concrete ideas and decent experience/familiarity with the server I'm pretty sure the staff is open to submissions.

Questing is mad fun, and quite a break from grinding..if it's a decent enough quest. I'm more a fan of things like the plaguelands quest etc personally, which was fun, a break from grinding and good xp to boot. It also didnt require any drops from raidish mobs, which is always a bonus. Wasn't aware anyone took quest submissions.

maybe a super mega hard quest that involves multiple guilds to work together for the final product

How would this work? Raiding Capacity = 18 people. :-(

Cause we don't. If you want to be a QD, then send a submission, but we don't accept freelance work.

Weapons (except for casters) are about the worst thing they could be since weapons are the things that get replaced/upgraded most often. For the reward to be a weapon and to be usable for any length of time they would have to be seriously overpowered for the effort required to do the quest. I think one of the dual wear slots (ear, wrist, finger) would be a better choice as you could continue to wear the reward for a much longer period of time.
This is true.

I hate to make a reference to Live, but Live found a way to balance the 1.5 Epics and 2.0 Epics to that nearly everyone I have seen from the raiding guilds from live uses their 2.0s and the lower end guilds all use their 1.5s.

I wouldn't be the one to do it, but I have faith that one could do the same with Starfalls in making a 1.5 and 2.0.

I just see it as a system that works well on Live that could be carried over to here.

Now, are you always accepting applications for Quest Designers, or was it like the Content Designer positions and they were open but filled up?

*cough* no-drop aug *cough*

Seconded. it was really a brilliant idea from the stuff to add these with MQ, because it is usefull for everyone regardless his standing in the raidprogression, if he even raids. Only downside i see with more nodrop augs is a possible lesser demand for tradeskilled augments.

there are quite a few no drop augs already. MQ, heartlands, dragon/soon to be giant augs
2 or 3.. isnt much..
maybe add some like dragon one with alot of svs, or some effects on it

Even if only for the plotline I'd go for a starfall 2 quest. Hm...If it were a mid fifties type thing(item's recommended level being like, say, 55, to prevent people from using early(as I did with the starfall items...had both by level 20 thanks to some helpful friends of mine). With that out of the way I really would like to see the resulting items/augments something that would truly be useful over the remaining career of the player without being horrindously unbalanced compared to other end raid gear. no I don't know how this would be accomplished and I"m not even going to start the barest of sketches for a sample quest as I don't have the time to commit to begin a staffer here and continually churn out quality material.

I just hope that we leave general ideology out of the starfall quest, or even have the outcome(and reward) different depending on the player's actions and alignment.

Starfall 2.0 = Epic. Attainable by 60% of people, reguardless of guild. I would love another epic, and if we are going down the star fall 2.0 question, i think this is valid.

(End game point...I just want another staff of the 4.)

Other than me being a dick, I think slightly upgraded quests are a good idea that will keep people that aren't in the end game playing

I am only wondering about how do you want to make this worthwhile for ppl that have high end raidgear?

I think this could easily be addressed by having one of the starfall items have a useful clicky for the specific class that can't be found on any other item.

One idea would be convenience clickies like the Beastlord clicky having Sha's Ferocity on it, Mage have Summon Peridot with a low cast/recast time, just as examples.

Maybe restrict them to level 65 only and make them like mini epics. That way people
who want to take a break from grinding AAs or dont have any they want to get can keep busy with a few tuff quests and possibly get a nice upgrade.

Make them require some soloing like item gathering and some grouping where you have to take down a few big mobs. That way people can solo parts of the quest when their friends arent around and get together with them for the bigger stuff when they are around.

There are a few augs available from quests already. Make it something different yet useful. Maybe a 12 slot 80% reduction bag or something. It doesn't always have to be gear as a reward ya know.
