Sports!

Seeing as how not too many people who play SoD are into sports, judging from ooc, thought I'd make a general sports thread instead of individual threads for each sport. So I'll start it off

NFL: Jay Cutler, Have fun not being as good in Chicago as you could've been in Denver. War - Brandon Marshall, Tony Sheffler, Eddie Royal, one of the best offensive lines in the league, one of the perennial top running teams in the league (when every single one doesnt get injured).

NBA: Go Nuggets getting outta the 1st round! Cav's take it this year if they don't fold under pressure, and if the Nuggets don't beat the Lakers like they most likely probably maybe should.

MLB: Rockies winning more than .500? I can only hope!

NHL: Av's get #3 in the draft, hope we can get a legit Goalie or something. Alex the Great > Sid the Kid, or however you spell his name.

EPL: Go American Keepers! Howard to the rescue. Suck it ManU. War Drogba's face touching the grass more than his feet touch the ball.

MMA: Silva sucks way to be boring. Go Franklin :(

Boxing: Who the fuck watches boxing anymore?

In case you couldn't tell Im from Colorado so my posts might be biased in Colorado team's favor.

Earl Bennet and Cutler did pretty well in college, I see that being a big combo this season. Also, Hester just needs to improve hit catching skills, once he has the ball it's over. Chicago has also improved its QB protection situation with free agents. Expect them to get a WR and offensive lineman in the draft, and then they will address the free safety position. I see them making it at least to a second playoff game.

MLB: Season is still young, not a whole lot to say here except to say I see the Yankees having another season of missing the playoffs. A-Rod getting old, their pitching staff is over rated (WTF Wang?) etc. etc. Also, the Rockies look OK but their pitching staff could use some work.

I definately don't think Cutler will be doomed in Chicago, but their offense has no where near the potential as Denver's.

Rockies pitching staff will always be subpar seeing as how we play in Colorado, and thats why I hope for atleast a .500 season lol =(

I've never hated the Yankee's which is weird seeing as how I hate most of the big time teams (Boston), but I can't say I don't enjoy them feeling some pain. Silly east coast elitists, I feed off your tears. Dance on LeBron, Dance on!

@Tinkaa, try drinking heavily that usually helps. Especially with baseball, and even more especially with SOCCER. BTW the term Soccer came from England, your own fault limeys.

P.S. Is limey an insult to British people? I see it the same as Yankee's for America. W/E

Do you think the Ducks can pull off an upset against San Jose?

Also NBA, can Yao lead the rockets to the championship? And what are the odds the Celtics (reigning champs) drop two games at the United Center?

Don't think the Sharks will lose the series, maybe im partial to Rob Blake but I think they got the squad to atleast make it to the conference finals. However, if lightning strikes a bottle and the offense of the Ducks can light up, I dunno how the Sharks goalie can hold up. I haven't been paying too much attention to the NHL this year though, so Im just flying by the seat of my pants.

Yao could help lead a team to the finals, just not the rockets. Without Mcgrady Im not sure how far they can go, though they haven't gone too far with him. I think the Blazers are the surprise team that could catch most teams sleeping if they aren't careful. Celtics may get to the Conf. finals but they aren't going further, no KG, no Powe does not bode well for Boston. The Lakers though winning have looked shaky and if they make it to the finals vs the Cav's like everyone says I think Kobe will have to wait atleast another year to win without Shaq. If the Lakers keep playing no defense, meet the Nuggets in the conf finals, and Melo plays like he can then the series could go the distance atleast. Which is saying something cause we've never had luck with the Lakers.

20+ Homeruns in Yankee Stadium in 4 games, ouch. Coors field 2.0.
