This research program has proven more dangerous than the Triumvirate warned us about. REDACTED was showing great aptitude with illusions and had discovered even more powerful REDACTED. His control was even greater than mine.

He spent his free time experimenting, charming small animals, and having them run races, chasing illusory food. He came to me a few days ago troubled. His rats had been tamed, but they had begun to bite and claw and scratch him and each another with abandon. It didn’t seem important at the time—rats are rats, after all. He was still concerned, seeming to think that his influence was changing the rats somehow, damaging their minds.
We found REDACTED this morning, his face picked clean by tiny teeth.
