Is this configurable? I don't think I'm alone in completely despising the Gates of Discord loading screen.

If this is one of the no-no areas for SoD to modify, is there a way I can change it on my side?

Oh how I miss these

 
It's probably something on your side, but I have no clue how to modify it. Mine actually don't even show up entirely -- most of the image is cut off.

Apparently I play EverQ
 
I just browsed the whole EQ folder with XnView, this picture was nowhere to be found. Apperently it's stored in an unknown format.

This can be solved with adjusting game solution/screen solution. Had that problem myself some years ago.


Please don't ask me how I fixed it, apparently I forgot.
 
Rab my loading screen looks just like yours. Tried playing with resolution both in game and from my desktop with no luck. If you find a fix for it, could you share with the rest of the class?
 
i believe it's either stored compiled into binary in a ".dll" or the client executable directly. which means that wiz has to hack it and distribute the hacked version via the patcher.

i remember looking for it and using a decompiler on various .dll's and .exe's and finding it somewhere, but i can't remember where anymore, and don't feel like looking again.
 
Here's where it is, and how it can be replaced:

Let's assume your SoD directory is C:\SOD

it resides in C:\SOD\Resources
as loadscreen.jpg.

You can put whatever picture you want in there, as long as it's 640x480, and it'll work just fine.
 
Incorrect - if you have patched recently from live, then you'll see that file is not what appears on the laoding screen.

That's for the new log-on UI. You may notice the loading screen is currently gates of discord which was before that revamp

No, thats the correct directory for the NEW splashscreen.

The old one is embedded somewhere so you arent going to find some magical jpg somewhere to replace
