Some SoD noobie questions

Dalayan Master
Let me preface this by saying I played EQ1 for a long time. But I have read about some notable differences, and I'm looking for some clarifications.

I made a toon already, a barb rogue(now lvl 6). I was wondering what most ppl thought was the best place to put the stat points. Majority into agi(to avoid dmg), majority into dex(to hit), majority into str(to hit harder). Or to balance it out between the three. If you say majority to one, where do you think the best place for the rest would be, and the split please. (like 25/5, 20/10, etc.) As for the specializations, I figured blade/strike was best. After that, I assume blunt/avoid? Should i raise both together? So far all my points have gone to blade/strike.

I'm also considering making a bard, but I'm really unsure where to lay the points, as I've seen mention of cha affecting resist rates of spell casts. :what: Or where to spend the spec points they get. I'd probably lean towards more of a solo career, grouping when able.

I won't even bother asking about gear, as a noob here, I have no cash for anything anyways. But I'll take suggestions for later. (And charity ;))

For the bard I will say that just like Live, stamina is the most valuable stat you will put points into.

I know before, I found stamina a fairly easy stat to raise with gear. What about dex (those dreaded missed notes) and cha (for mez/charm)?
I was considering rolling up a half-elf bard..I think that's what I had in EQ1, but as you can tell, I'm a tad rusty..it has been awhile.

And what about Berserkers, are they unavailable due to game engine, or they hated by the powers, like the Vah Shir?

for rogues I would say stamina, str and dex both cap with good gear, agi caps as well, sta will be the lowest of the 4 major stats and will be hardest to cap(but still possible)

Even though you can cap the stats at 305 you can still benefit from 180 more beyond the cap with hidden strength AA.

Berserkers hated like the Vah Shir yeah, for a different reason (mainly uselessness and one more class to balance)

Berserkers would have been a better dps class, if Sony/verant would have properly balanced the damage of 2-hand weapons. But they were raid-useless, except for causing damage.

I quit a bit after Berserkers came out, so I never saw them as anything but "Rar! I can throw axes! Now watch me try to take the place of monk/rogue dps without the utility!" How did they finally end up in the Big Picture™?

Taedirk..hmm, the same from KoK on Fennin?

Last I saw of them (I quit not long after also), was RAR! I can throw axes, and swing my big axe. Their dps was above sk/pally/warrior, but below monk (and well below rogue/ranger). Their abilities were either useless in raids, or over-ridden by others. If they ever got their dps fixxed, I wasn't there for it.
I only asked about them because I saw them in the class list in game, but was unable to choose them with any race. Made me wonder is all.

On another note, are Naggy and Vox here on SoD, and what about old favorite zones of mine, Mistmoore, Cazic Thulke, and SolB?

Yep, didn't know there was anyone who recognized me from then here. >.> Hit me up ingame (same name) or in PMs, since this is more laughing at zerkers than anything else ITT.

EDIT: Mistmoore's deadlier (Eld's Mansion), Cazic Thule's crappier (Yaralith, buncha sarnaks and skeles), and haven't been in SolB yet.

Kinda of funny saying Mistmoore is deadler :) it was rather deadly to begin with.

I would say Cazic Thule (aka Yaralith) isnt' crappy.. just has some issues...
Namly LOTS of caster that nuke and heal. Solb is a High level zone, with lots of very angry Imps and Efreeti who are more then happy to burn you to a sinder.

Speaking of Sol B.... What is in the Fire Gaint area and Nagfenlair? Guessing some badass Named is in Nagfens lair but dont hear many people talk about it.

My opinion of Yaralith is slightly shaded by the quest mobs in the basement (Thurg caster quests) who stood around and killed me while I kept getting Cannot See Target on them. Mistmoore was never that deadly if you went in there prepared...with a death squad rather than a group >.>

Yeah those basement mobs are a pain... I had to go down there for shaman thug.. now I am back for Ancestral mask...

I even got my 65 shaman killed by a greenie in the basement :) named jerk spawned and proceeded to chain cast 400 pt Life taps None stop.

Lol, MM was always deadly..if anyone else was in the zone. I usually didn't killed by my groups (I even soloed in there a bunch), it was always someone else's bad pull that got me killed :(

Still Fire Giants in the FG areas. There's a lower-tier raid mob (Melwin the Malicious, also a FG) just inside the first set of gates. I haven't made it to Naggy's lair yet so don't know what's there, but would love to find out.

It was going to be turned into another 'hard' encounter (lol, Melwin isn't hard though), but nothing was ever done. It's currently locked without any key.

If you swim threw the lava there are a couple of effrites (sp?) and 2 door guards(fgs) but there is nothing in naggys room.

Yup. Naggy's room is completely empty once you get past the two door guards.
