SoD Wiki help

Scalefire

Dalayan Beginner
Good day, I do not use forum but I can find no other place to turn. Years previous I used to edit the wiki religiously, user Scalefire. I have returned to SoD and would like to pick up where I left off. Unfortunately I continually receive this message when trying to authenticate my account "Could not send confirmation mail. Check address for invalid characters. Mailer returned: mailer error." I have checked and rechecked my email and substituted two other email addresses all to the same return. I again reserved the user name Scalefire but am now at a bypass. Any help would be appreciated as I am at this point utterly baffled.

There was a problem yesterday with outgoing mail. We suspect it was due to some upgrades. I can't confirm from here, but it's possible this is still a problem. I'll update here when I find out more unless other staff beat me to it.

Hi, I have been trying to confirm my email address so that I can edit the wiki but it keeps saying that a code has already been sent which I cannot find in my emails and when I request a new code it says that a code has been sent but nothing shows up in my email inbox or spam folder. I checked my settings after logging into the wiki and my email address is correct there. Any ideas? thanks in advance.

Honestly, why are you bumping a 9 month old thread to do this? It was fixed months ago. Should have made a new post.

Tyrsell and I have both tried to find a work around for confirming user e-mail addresses manually, but unfortunately nothing ever seems to stick. Basically, you have to get the that email to edit the wiki. I'd suggest doing the following:

1. Check your spam / trash folders. If you can search your email, the subject line should be SoDWiki e-mail address confirmation.

2. Try changing the address in your preferences and request a new auto-confirm email. There have been known problems with aol domain emails, not sure if there were others that gave trouble. The old code will expire after a week. In the meantime, I'm afraid you'll have to wait.
