SoD patcher

I tried looking for a thread with the same problem. I'm sure there are many in there, but I didn't see them.

Basically, I'm a moron when it comes to computer. I downloaded the patcher and after that, I'm pretty well at a loss as to what to do. Any help?

Make sure you have M$ .NET install extract the files in the patcher to c:\sod\.. or any folder youi choose other then the actuall EQ dir.

create a shortcut to the sodpatcher.exe on your desktop and then follow the prompts.

I spoke too soon. When I clicked on start eq game or whatever after the patch, It said I had a .dll error of some sort and when I restarte the patcher, it started patching again.

Then again, this may be right. Any takers on this one?

Okay, download the patcher and then unzip it to a directory on your computer.

Right click on wherever the file downloaded to and press "extract all". That will extract the files and place the extracted version right where you saved the zip file to. Thus, the zip file should be in that folder/directory as well as the new unzipped files. These are "sodbin.exe", "sodpatcher.exe" and "filelist" or something along the lines of "filelist".

Now double click on the patcher and it should ask you to select your EQ directory (if not, when you open the patcher, hit "advanced" and then press "select EQ folder" (or something along those lines)). Now you'll have to select your EQ folder.

By default, your EQ folder should be: c:\Program Files\EverQuest

Select that by manually going to it, then when you have EverQuest highlighted, press okay. Everything should be working now.

What I think you did wrong was by not selecting your actual EQ directory, but instead something else. It started patching, then realized there was no eq.dll and stopped.

OKay, its still saying it can't find that file. And when I click ok or whatever, there is an error that says unable to load eqw.dll

Suggestions, por favor?

Woops. Missed a step. I forgot to download the patcher from the EQ client before downloading the patches from Shards. Maybe that will fix something.
