SoD + College w/o EQ CDs = Happening?

I'm in college and sometimes when I need to kill time I wish I could just log on and play SoD, but my EQ CD's are back home and I'm not going back for a loooooooong while -- anybody help me out? Or is there anything I can do? Thanks

In the first paragraph you'll notice a link that downloads the patcher. You can get the whole damn thing there. It only takes a few hours on a good connection.

Just get the EQ for Mac version... Now whether or not you can connect to SoD is a different matter all together. I'm not familar with Mac and SoD compatability.

The mac and Pc versions are vastly different IIRCC and thus on diff servers..

Reguarding the patcher that was linked to earlyer, simply to see what happens(due to the fact I do not have EQ) I've loaded it up and apparently its downloading...something. For some reason I can't get the 'advanced' button to do anything.


I doubt it'll do anything other than give me a bunch of garbage messages but would anyone be interested in hearing about what happens after it finishes?

It downloads EQ. All of it. When it's done, click advanced and select the expansions you own to download those.

I should add... make sure it's in the directory you want EQ in. It downloads everything to the patcher's directory. Patcher on desktop = bad.

Thing of it is when I'd triee this it downloaded, then it threw up a 'could not draw window' error. And also it kept causing draw errors while it was running(meaning it kept glitching everything else up)>

Translation: with it running, and probably because of the bandwidth it was sucking up, I couldn't do anything.

Edit: Alright it worked, everything's gotten now I'm updating. Also going to go to a friend of mine tomorrow(later today? its like 2:40 am here) who got over his evercrack addiction and seeing if he's willing to trade diablo 2/LoD for the needed expansions.

Just patch the expansions, don't pay for them.

I didn't know you could DL the patcher from the eq site, that's pretty neat. So I guess they condone using all that bandwidth ;p

I'd always had a friend send me the patcher, takes like a minute and beats keeping all those damned software CDs around. What are there, like 10 expansions now?

so I did everything that you guys said to, then when I try to run SoD, I get a black screen with a siezure warning and my computer freezes up. What am I doing wrong? Please help me.
