Skin and Dream Problems

I've installed EQ on my computer and modded it to SoD quite a few times, mainly because every now and then I just format to keep the pc clean. Anyway, Skins such as kobolds, sharks, bats, and pets, have most commonly human skins, and occasionally a diffrent animal skin. For example: In mistwoods I see a human swimming around in the water labeled "a shark". The problems don't occur in every zone however, and I would like to know if there is a solution to this problem.

My other problem is when it comes time for me to create a new character, I am always unable to enter "the dream", and I get an error message which at the moment I can't remember. So I have to have a friend go through the dream for me and once out of the dream, I can load into that character. I install, patch up to EQ live, then run the SoD patcher, and have repatched all plenty of times, but I can still never enter the dream, what can I do about this?

1) The error you're getting is that you don't have the file, which is covered in the sticky.
2) The error with sharks looking like humans is due to not having patched properly.
 
Oh hey, I have a similar problem too. All "a fish" in Butcherblock (whatever it is called now) all look human. Fish everywhere else look normal. My BL pet looks human only in Erudin, and looks fine everywhere else. Any ideas?

2. I did a complete repatch.. same issue. Seems weird that the human skin appearing only in certain zones maybe is a little different?
 
The way it works is that there is a file ("zonename_chr.txt") that tells the client which models we want to open for that zone (apart from global models, and models defaulted to the zone). If you don't have the correct version of it and we use that model on a mob, it will show as a default (which is the human model). If you do have the newest version of it, it's most likely because our file isn't set to include the model, which is an error on our part.

Also, error just means "An act, assertion, or belief that unintentionally deviates from what is correct, right, or true.", it doesn't really have to stop the program, or even give you an error message.
