Simple Tmaps Ideas...

If we accept the premise that there is an excess in the game of Simple Tmaps, the possibility of creating more demand becomes important.


Idea 1) Item quest similar to the quest for the VE,E,Mod, VD maps. Have 4 rare drops from simples that are handed in to get the item appropiate to their type of class.

Idea 2) Quests for spells. Maybe introduce some new spells that can be quested for along the same line of idea 1. Unique spells that offer more variety without imbalancing. Perhaps give mages a single Ice Nuke for 500 points of base damage(10+ second recast). Wizards & Druids could be given a port spell to Ikisith (level 59? high mana requirement). Shaman could be given a small HoT for others (Unable to attack with Shaman HoT on or cast). Negatives listed for balancing.

Idea 3) XP turn in items. Again, some rarish items that when turned it will grant a decent shot of XP.

I am completely willing to have this be an open discussion of other ideas. Feel free to post any idea you have that is related to increasing the demand for simple Tmaps.

Ease/remove the restriction on 60+ helping? Maybe 63 and below? (not likely, but had to ask). This could go hand in hand with allowing a 55+ to dig a very easy tmap. There is a huge gap in difficulty between 40s and 50s simple tmaps, and a much smaller difficulty jump between 50s simple tmaps and very easy tmaps.

One possible way to tune simple maps to allow 60s to help would be to require the digger to be 60+ if the group included characters higher than 59. The tmap code could detect this and simply raise the mob levels as deemed necessary to make this a proper challenge. No change in reward drops.

The reason I am going with this direction is that there was demand before. The fact there was demand and it went away leads to the conclusion that something changed. I think the rules change is a likely candidate. I think the rule change was made due to abuse more than just intent (I could be very wrong). If the maps could be tweaked to allow a bit broader usage without allowing abuse, perhaps the original demand would be restored... I'll freely admit, that is probably too much thinking on my part to be accurate :)
 
Make a T-Map Trader NPC. Give him 4 simple maps and get a VE. Give him 4 VE get an E, etc.

You are making / asking for suggestions on a problem that you aren't even sure is a problem?

Having a lot of simple tmaps available to people who are leveling up and could really use the gear is a good thing from my perspective.
 
yeah, to be fair I never really thought they should cost 100, or even in that ball park. 20, which seems really low I guess, is a good chunk for people in the bottom 1 and 2 tiers of the simple maps. Maybe 20p is a bit low, but 100p like it used to be was quite high.
