Simple Tmap Length

i have been doing simple maps lately and i have noticed a discouraging trend; maps seem to take a lot longer than they should before the chest pops. i dont know if this is intended, but a good amount of the maps i have done have taken 20+ waves or have gone until the digger got packet loss. this seems like it is a little out of balance with other types of maps (ve-d for instance) and for the rewards.

I dont know if someone can take a look to make sure if simple maps are working correctly, but if they are, then i would suggest that they be made more in line with other types of maps in their duration (~30 minutes per map when digging non-stop).

Maybe this is an incredible example of the rng and im just crazy. hopefully someone else feels the same way that i do. dwarf rings arent going to farm themselves :( thx

Aye Simple Tmaps lenght and diff are totaly out of wack for thier levels. a Group of high 50s toons + 60+ Digger have a easyer time doing a VE map then the simple tmap :(

MUCH MUCH less waves, or put a hard cap on the # of waves a simple map can generate would be nice.

Yea I would go ahead and say simples are just not worth doing. Very few worthwhile rewards, especially ones that are not replaced easily by later maps. Take way longer than other types of maps (I dunno about VD/ED). Experience is not in line with just regular grinding (which wouldnt be a problem if these maps did not last so long, but they are time consuming and the reward possibilities are limited). Really no incentive to do them. I completely agree they should be shortened, and/or the waves be made a little easier. 3 constructs on a chest pop on a simple map basically amounts to wasting almost two hours and then not being able to claim the treasure.

Did a simple map the other day with a friend, with our adept alts. Lvl 30 range map, chest popped after 3 waves. Our biggest problem was that it happened in obs shard mts, in the hill giant area.. right where roamers path through. perhaps they have a wave range that grows larger with level range?
(And please don't put simples for 30's in OSM, that's just evil.)

Its certainly frustrating to say the least (Simple 30 in OSM) but seeing how Simples are non level restricted (Huge Range 20-59) probley can't level range restirct zones.

This is a lot like getting those VE maps for Darkwoods :( Its always in a high traffic area.

just to clarify my particular situation: all characters are usually 54-59, and typically a handful of them have 20-50aa's if not more and usually some respectable gear. so, we arent just going in there with soft leather not knowing what we are doing. theres a good chance we have been doing it faster than a soft-leathered group could, which makes me think it is even less feasible for newbs to do tmaps.

i think the best suggestion is to set simple maps with a capped number of waves. if the cap was set to 10, then slow groups could finish the longest possible map in about an hour and faster groups would be able to complete them in maybe half of that time. i think this is a little more reasonable and more in line with other maps.

ALL tmaps are worth doing, imo. BUT, I do agree that simples are a little bit unbalanced. There are just too many golems for the type of map. I have often gotten chest pop on first dig though, so the time it takes to do a simple is ok. If you have had 20+ waves with a simple map I believe you are either bugged, or just have the worst luck in all of SoD. I have done dozens of simple maps and probably 30% of all the maps I have done popped on first or second dig. Those that took longer still popped by 4th or 5th dig and the whole thing took less than 30 minutes to pop the chest. Only a few times was it longer because the time it took to kill all the golems.

My biggest problems with simple maps are getting stuck with people in the group who are useless and worthless morons. I had a healer before who refused to heal people , and 2 tanks who watched the rest of us fight and they died without ever swinging a weapon. So be careful who you allow go on your maps because there are a few total idiots out there who think they can leech off your map.
