Shouts for CH's in Zones

Being nice to people is not one of the rules. Also, thinking that clerics using shout for CH chains is an intentional act of rudeness towards you is extremely shallow and self-absorbed. This is not about you.

I could redo all of my filter colors so that my /say channel is red and I could notice it, but then my normal talking is now painful to read. Honestly, do I need to redo my entire chat colors (which takes a while, as I'm picky and need certain custom ones :p ) just so people aren't "annoyed" with a few minutes of a chain?

OOC bothers me while I'm raiding; I turn it off. I don't ask people to take it to IRC.

I can't find the quote but someone said that I am saying raiders are expected to turn shout of, but are also expected to shout for rotting loot. Raid people can shout loot if they want. It's benificial to other players whereas shouting CHs isnt.

I wasn't saying people *have* to shout for rotting loot, but can shout for it if they'd like, its the raids choice if they want to shout for loot or not. I prefer not to turn certain channels off because you never know when something important might be said in ooc, and shout, guild, or say, I've found alot of usefulness for shout. Quest items going for rot, items you might need rotting, and other things as far as "watch out train" or "Anyone need a group?"; I don't turn off shouts for good reasons. Personally, CH shouts dont' bother me, and I actually prefer them too when I'm raiding. But, I also see the point of veiw that people who are grouping or just XPing, are getting spam that they might not want. I really agree about that smoking example. Even though its making 30 people change something, doens't mean its that 1 person who should change...they walk into a zone, not expecting spam, and the CHs are instigating it.

If Prophets is raiding and using /shout please send me or someone a tell and we will make sure to have an alternative for /shout. Wether it be guild chat, or even CAPS group chat. It's not life and death...well...kinda....

Janseth...the only RP aspect I've ever seen in WR, is the NPCs. lol
And the RP event.

well everyone else is giving their 2cp so i might as well.

i lean towards the 'deal with it' side of the arguement. Important stuff comes up in ooc but if i get tired of newb spam i A)ignore it, or B) turn off ooc until my spam tolerance has leveled out again. If i miss an important tidbit, that's life. Same goes for shout. And seriously, if your chat window is getting spammed by shouts for CH and such what is it about the shout channel specifically that manipulates your will to the point you can't look away, and thus get annoyed?

Spamming never gave you exp debt or anything close to it, so it is not the evil antichrist it is being portrayed as. there are ways to ignore/control it on an individual basis. It should be dealt with on an individual basis, with your client. It is just one more inconvenience in a life full of inconveniences. adapt and evolve. and learn to love one another.

My view of love one another is not to learn how to get along with others annoying you, but to learn how to not annoy others. ;)

EDIT: just wrote badly a word :p

There's another option.

Create a separate chatwindow, lead shouts and whatever messages you don't wanna see to that window and minimize it.

Oh before i forget : Be sure to maximize that window once in while for train warnings

Or...

Or just ignore the clerics. Really. It's like 3-8 people, and you can clear your ignore list after the kill.
