Shield of Freeport

Just wondering where the "Shield of Freeport" quest originates, any help would be greatly appreciated :)
 
Inquirying minds want to know if Shield of Freeport quest will yield other results if done by melees or other casters? Also would there happen to be any way to positive faction as I'm KOS from killing the necro hermit south in SBL. :censored:
 
IIRC, the Shield of Freeport was first done by Ponden (rogue), so I'd venture to say no to a different result (its droppable, so worst comes to worst you can sell it for some nice cash). As for faction, I've asked this question before and havent gotten an official word on it, there are no ways that I know of (illusions dont work for me) with the exception of farming vials and sneak / turning them in, and booking it to the zoneline when you get aggro. I've done this once so far (4 vials) while KoS, and though I'm still KoS I recieved the faction message. And for the record, I got KoS by grouping with Enchanters that charmed the EPL NPC's before the quest got put in... :sadf:
 
Leader Dannisan is on Plagueland Survivor faction I think. Is it possible for those of us who took faction hits from Golden Rotbringer (who wan't supposed to have them) to have this faction reset back to default level? I believe Wiz fixed this faction hit just last week.

I remember Dannisan talking to me back before I killed Golden and since then he hasn't wanted anything to do with me. I'm speculating it was a pretty good size faction hit.

If this is the case, Gunder and Trysilla need a faction reset too. :(

I think alot of people got kos because of that bug. :(
 
So that's why I have crappy faction with those guys. Will there be a global faction fix or are those who are KOS already pretty much screwed?
