Sharing 6-man zones

Nebi

Dalayan Pious Diety
Good afternoon / morning / evening good people of shards of dalaya.

Currently in the good world of shards of dalaya there are no rules which limit the time you can spend on a particular 6 man mob. Nor are there rules which limit the amount of character you can swap in and out of a particular fight.

#1 - There should be a limit on the time one person can hold claim of an encounter before another guild / group of misfits should be allowed to get their shot.

## I believe there should be time for someone to be able to try and test the content but there should come a point where you say damn this just isnt happening. Please consider adding a stupid amount of time (Time limit 6 hours?) before a different group of people are allowed to get their chance at X mob.

### How it will be enforced. Group A gets claim of mob and the group that just failed takes a screenshot and time stamp. 6 hours later if group B is still there and in its original make up the claim is transferred.

#2 There should be a limit on the amount of characters that can be swapped out before a claim is invalid.

## Claiming a zone or encounter with 3 mages 2 necromancers and 1 shaman is just silly. Its definitely not fair for a group of people to rush with 6 random classes just so they get claim and later swap out to the right group. There should be a thing where if 3 mages 2 necromancers 1 shaman get claim and they find out that their group make up sucks and cannot do it they cannot swap out 3 of their characters and then bring the right group.

### How this will be enforced. Once Group 1 gets claim group B must take a screenshot and time stamp of Group A's original group. If group A swaps out 3 of their starting cast members at any time their claim is invalid and the next group can come up and take over.

Its time to stop being shit bags and stop claiming zones with groups you know damn well don't work. If you got to swap a druid for a cleric then go ahead nothing is wrong. But don't swap your entire group and feel you're still entitled to the mob / zone..... Half of you dudes weren't even there!

Too hard to enforce, patience is a virtue. If you see a bunch of dirtbags wiping over and over just go do something else and wait for them to give up. That's what I did when I saw CW in emberflow doing anything but MK.

That is goo in theory but it is too hard to enforce and I believe in letting people learn and experience new content to their harts desire. If one would be to make this for 6 mans I would want it to apply to all content.

Agreed on all points.

yeah, impossible to enforce. but this does give me a chance to comment on something i've wondered about. it seemed like years ago, when people raced for 6 mans, the losing group would just leave. there wasn't giant drama every time. in fact, i pretty much never saw any 6 man drama first hand other than arcibu training us at mountain king in 2009. nowadays even if a group clearly lost the claim and they know it, they will still attempt to get a gm involved, in the off chance the gm messes up or just makes them roll or something.

tl;dr what is wrong with todays youth

Impossible to enforce and not even something that should be a thing. If someone else got their first you should follow these easy steps:

Step 1. Deal with it.

If not being able access content because stupid people who are not you are getting in the way might I suggest any of the thousands of single player rpgs or dozens of mmos that use instancing.

ADDENDUM:
Whoever gave me the ol' red box with the message "deal with it" for telling them to deal with it has just created a paradox that will eventually kill the Internet. Thanks a lot!

I thought this thread would be much more interesting.

I don't think this would actually accomplish anything of note other than adding more rules and more drama.

I agree it's kind of ridiculous but there's not much that can be done about it.

Certain people (actually a lot of people) have some kind of mentality where they see something's up and they think, oh hey let's go kill that!! the people already in zone probably aren't going after the only thing that I just saw was up.

They also tend to get mad at you when they show up.

Definitely troublemakers on both side of this fence. Learning an encounter is all well and good but there should be a time limit when you should have to just let someone go in and kill it because it's like an all day activity until "The A-Team" gets on sometimes and that's just stupid.

Maybe make a longer claim than for raids but if you're on the boss, and not making any progress in killing it, you shouldn't be able to wipe for 2+ hours and still have a valid claim IMO, especially if you need to switch to new actual players, not just stronger characters.

The hard part is to define making progress. Also, there is plenty of things in this game to do ren if your #1 choice for the day is down. Just Gondi something else.

I don't see what makes you think you're more entitled to play this game than any other person playing it.

Monkey-bars are taken? Go play on the fuckin' slide, son.

i think claiming with forces that aren't capable is just stupid. 3 druids and 3 tanks isnt a capable force to kill a mob... so why should you get to claim with it?

although i beleive if u want to spend 13 hours face smashing a mob to learn the strat thats fine, and should be allowed.
