Shapeshift not woking as intended

This is a long time bug I've had - with no luck isolating it. The Enchanter AA: Shapeshift is not functioning correctly for me. When I use the ability, I take the form of my target, but it reverts to my original form at the end of a tick. I am using a permanent illusion mask (Faces of the Violators), and it functions normally with the mask off. My cast illusions all function fine. When I have a cast illusion on, I can use Shapeshift as normal.

If it helps, I use new models, and I've spoken with other enchanters who have the same gear / model setup (Selvy) who are able to use the ability as normal. Other enchanters have mentioned the bug in the past though, including ones who use both old and new models. Do we have any idea what might be causing this?

This problem originates in your iksar face trying to apply iksar illusion on you every tick (thats how worn illusions seem to work). If iksar illusion wins ( = is the highest illusion spell on you) you look like an iksar. If some other illusion wins, you look like that. Now figure in that shapeshift isn't actually an illusion, but more a different "paint" on how you appear, and you have an idea what causes this.
