Shaman tome idea's.

Its an interesting idea, but it would be miserable to be the shaman on an AE or PS fight.

What if a shaman could Spirit Link to a tank and if the tank would have died instead the shaman has a 100/75/50/25% chance of dieing. Also could add a buff to the tank when it goes off for 300hp/50ac/300 hp regen for 1 min. Put it on 10 min cooldown so it can only work one time per encounter.

Even if it was, instant heal on otherwise dead char for 90% of your current hp, at the cost of 90%-70%-50%-30% of own current hp, i wouldnt do it untill i had atleast rank 3 or 4 ready to do.
Just to easy to die as Solo said, in AE's or PS but also just low hp aggro...

Removing the negative effects off the hots, is the way to go! 25%-50%-75%-100%!
No more snare and slow yay heheh (for those in Turuj).

I'd like to see something interactive, so maybe:

When a dot is cast it gives a small bump (maybe 1% crit or 1% base) for the next ~10s to heals. When a heal is cast it gives a small bump to dots (either crit or base dmg) for the nxt ~10s.

Tome of Restoration:
Tome 1 and 2 removes 50% per rank of the slow from all hots, respectively.
Tome 3 and 4 removes 50% per rank of the snare from all hots, respectively.

(Couldnt really find a name for being in a state of torpor with out side effects, but restoration comes after sleep or torpor hybernation and such).

From my understanding its hard to alter certain spells, and I would think this to be one of them.

It is a bit odd that the shaman ghot got nerfed and around the same time druids gained awesome ghots. There was a short time where shaman ghots were really useful. I don't know if a tome is right, but I would like to see the spell itself altered to maybe apply MORE slow/snare, but also more healing and/or duration (maybe something interesting/unique like a small bonus spell crit or haste). The shaman ghot would have a nice niche if it's efficiency could compete with with druid's a bit more, and the snare/slow would always prevent widespread use. Right now, druid ghot is just so much better that its usually best to just have the druid cover multiple groups.

Spell: Runic: Spiritual Attuning: 950 mana, 6.6 cast, 60% snare, 30% slow, 450 heal per tic, 5 tic duration, +5% spell crit

The slow makes it highly situational, and druids are still way more efficient (this is about the same efficiency as cleric ghot), but the extra tic and spell crit would make it desirable for a caster group when you don't have to move around much.

The healing part is fine, its a bit expensive, pretty slow cast, but being a Shm, its not that bad all in all..
Cast 6.6 seconds
Mana 950
Increase Hitpoints V2 by 500 per tick
Decrease Movement Speed by 50%
Decrease Attack Speed by 20% (possibly increase by 80%)

The snare part makes is useless in some fights where you want to be able to move fast, but its not really the problem with it...
The real problem is the slow part. I dont think it just slows 20%, i think it puts you at 80% melee attack speed, where you was probably at 160% with emp, or even 177% if you had GoE.
So yay, your healing the group, but potentialy you just killed 50% of your total DPS...

How to code it, i have no idea, or if it even can, but i can hope its possible, and that the Devs find it addecuate and possible ;)

Even if the coding works (and it often doesn't), there are other issues with making a tome centered around a single spell. Shaman who don't yet have the spell can't benefit, and at some point the spell will be obsolete, then the dev team is somewhat obligated to make an upgrade to the spell.

This is coming from someone who made plenty of similar suggestions (I think I even made one about the shaman ghot a while back), and realized how problematic creating tomes geared around a specific spell can be.
