Does anyone use this? I was wondering how much damage it does and to how many targets?

Before I spent the AA time and money I figured I should ask. Didn't see any posts with much detail on how the first rank of this tome worked.

If its good does anyone have any suggestions on what pet clickies / procs are best to keep resummoning the pet?
 
I use it all the time!!! I think it starts at 2000dmg and up to 4 or 6 targets I don't recall.

I like the Mercury clicky, can re summon a pet every 2 or 3 minutes so the dps is fairly reliable on multiple targets
 
Very nice. Does it have a cooldown period? Or is it just based on how fast you can cast pets?

The level one SK pet takes 5 seconds to cast with CSI and a free 5 second cast 2k PBAOE sounds awfully nice to me (outside the chance of interrupt since you are probably doing it on multiple targets). If you can then combine that with any short cast pet clickies I think you can realy do some nice aoe dmg.

I wonder what other pet clickies or procs are out there. Would the fame pet clickies work? They only have 3 second cast times.

Do you know if the aoe nuke works with /s 7?

You are limited to summoning a pet only once every 2 minutes regardless of your class. I don't have any further experience with this particular tome though. And off the top of my head, Flame-blade Sheath is a pretty popular pet clicky for tanks

Thanks for all the help so far.

That makes for a tough decision then. The SK has max AA's but no tomes yet, plus niether of those pet items.

Not sure if its better to get rank 1 in the basic dps/tank tomes first before moving onto the class one. He's mainly going to be used as a high end duo and 6man tank.
 
Yeah, I agree with daffie.. because a dead toon does 0 dps. Best to do a few boring defensive tomes first, and help yourself/healer/group out, and do the gimmick tome after. It will give you time to get a pet clickie, too. Because 5seconds feels like forever when casting during a fight.

There is also an instant cast, with charges, item from BQ, as I recall. Forget the name, but has 25 charges. Might find it on list, or athica vendors.
 
I would honestly just do whatever tomes you can find in exp groups or for really cheap. A charm is way more important, and I see so many players since iksith came out spending all their money on expensive tomes and never getting a charm.

It requires some balance, as you need all the important tomes eventually as well, but unless you have nothing to put exp in, I personally think its better to save up $ for a better charm. The spell crit and stats you get from a charm are bigger than all the tomes combined, especially for a tank class. The only exception might be caster dps, who gain a ton from tomes (especially if you are counting opus as well)

I also agree with solo that charm >>>> tomes.

As a sk I would put the tomes in the following order

Avoidance - tanky
Magic mastery - increased lifetaps
Life tap mastery - increased lifetaps
Crit evo - more dmg crits on lifetaps
Resilience - tanky
Mind
Servant training
Infection mastery
Focused hate

Junk tomes

Ember flow tomes are super nice too and I would put in the upper priority.
 
I've got my jugg charm, mainly wanted tomes because I wanted the CoP bonus.

Are emberflow tomes still only from emberflow?
