Second augment slot for charms idea.

Ok, this is an idea I had, listen and tell me what you think.

Items can now have 2 augment slots as you have probably noticed from tradeskilled armor/jewelery and Thaz armor.

My Idea would be to make a new augment type(2,3,4,5,7 are taken) specificly for charms. Type 1 for example.

It would look like this:

Charm of Battle
Skit: CHARM
Magic No Drop
STR: 3 DEX: 3 STA: 3 AGI: 3
WT: 1.0 Size: SMALL
Class: ALL
Race: ALL
Slot 1, type 3: empty
Slot 2, type 1: empty

Ok, Now there will be only 1 augment for this slot, it will be "quested" and it will be upgradeable as well as removable(so you can upgrade charms). Everyone will be able to do this, starting at level 1 and lasting well into 65.

The augment will gain +1ac +1 to all stats and +1 to all resists as well as +10hp/mana every tier. Topping out at +6ac +6 to all stats +60hp/mana and 6sv all

For each tier you will need to gather X number(I would think 100ish) of a certain new item that will be introduced into the game that will drop off of mobs within the level range of 1 to 10 for tier 1, tier 2 will require an item from level 11 to 20 mobs, tier 3 from 21 to 30 and so on. Named mobs and raid bosses would be excluded from the drop list.

The item needed for each tier will be stackable so that it isnt a hassle but will be fairly rare so that a lot of effort is required. I would think that even a new character leveling up should not be able to get all the pieces needed per each tier as she levels but should be able to get a decent portion, maybe up to 50% done just from exping at the very most. maybe a 1% drop rate.

With small incrimental stats on the augment, no one would ever feel that they HAVE to have the aug but those who do get theirs will be rewarded with a very nice aug for their efforts.
 
The augment itself will obviously be no drop.


Additional thoughts:

possiblely lower level tiers 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, and maybe 31-40 quest pieces would be tradeable, this would stop most higher level players from rampaging all over newbie areas but still require people to do their own work later on for the final tiers.
 
i like the idea but the thought of another quest to gather 100 of anything makes me want to kill myself
 
obviously you wont have to do it and you would gain a lot of the tier5 and tier6 parts just from exping at 65(over a long period of time)
and if the lower pieces were buyable you wouldnt have to do much* farming outside your level range

I endorse this product and/or service. Quests kick ass. Though tbh I would rather see the current set of questage get finished first. Things like the council augment ones, the blackscale ones, hopefully gateneck quests for other cities, etc.

I agree with this. I like progressive aug quests, but please no more farming quests for a while.
 
How about we finish up the faction augs before we start adding new augs for no particular reason?

On the other hand, a second jewelry aug slot for charms is not a terrible idea, jewelry does have only a few slots atm.
 
die in the face (in regards to long quest augs) The faction ones are already annoying as hell. Spent 5 hours in Faenc last night to get Gemathians heartstones.. i wanted to kill someone after.

I don't mind alot of quest parts. Just the very annoying rare drops from annoy greenies its just too tedious and very unenjoyable.

Now if it was more set up like the Ring 10 quest on live. None of those parts were that tedious (other than the last fight). Things such as: talk to this dwarf sittin in EW he spawns 3 giants then run to kill him you proect him etc. Things such as this are "easy" but also fun.

but i do agree with the original idea of more slots :p
