Rogue Hide Confirmation/Failure Message

Subject title is pretty self explanitory.

This has been bugging me for quite awhile now. Are there any plans to get confirmation/failure messages when using Hide? I don't mean during combat, but when you're just standing around as usual.

If I'm walking through dungeon and slap hide on, I'd like to know for sure if I'm hidden instead of getting bashed on by the next mob around the corner. :(
 
Hide never fails (but moving breaks it), or at least it does not at maxed skill. Sneak, however, does fail and there is a message for it.
 
Hide can fail, even at max skill. You will become invis to players but not necessarily to mobs. Currently, the only way to know for certain that it is working is to con a mob that does not normally con as indifferent. If you slap on sneak before using hide, then the mob you con must also not be facing away from you. A successful sneak will render you indifferent if you are behind the mob but that doesn't mean that the hide also worked.
 
I think you're thinking of inate racial hide, which maxes at like 50.

I can't think of a time (as a rogue) that hide has failed at max skill.
The only thing that I see happen regularly is I'll push sneak/hide then move and have it fail bacause sneak failed.
Moving then buggers hide.
 
It seems to me if you are sneaking when you engage a mob, the sneak button will refresh, but the next time you use the sneak skill you will not get a confirmation or failure message and have to wait for it to refresh again unless you stop sneaking before the fight is over.
 
I have noticed that too. After a successfull sneak, if u get hit or cast a spell or do anything that remove sneak, your next sneak attempt will automatically fail. I don't know if it's intended or not, but I can live with it no problem.
 
Actually, I dont know that sneak automatically fails in that situation, It's like it was never engaged, I get no message whatsoever when that happens, but experience has taught me that I am not sneaking. So chill for a second, sneak again, and its back to normal.

I have never noticed rogue hide at max level to fail to hide me (not talking about evade), but I have not tested it, merely never noticed it to do so.

Racial hide on the other hand....
 
Sorry, I would have responded awhile ago but things came up and I forgot all about this. :sadf:

Now what I mean is: I'll hit hide and then con something(let's say a kos mob). Sometimes it'll work and I'll be indifferent and sometimes it won't work and I'll still be kos. I never move when I select hide, infact I always make sure I'm standing completely still when I select it.

I don't know if it's just me or what..
 
I've never seen this happen at max. Is your hide skill 250?


It does work this way for racial inate hides (woodelves at 50 hide, etc).
