Which class will level faster?

I am looking to fine tune my class choices. I am a hard-core raider from EQLive and am looking to hit the end game ASAP. I level fast and know all of the classes well from EQLive. Since SoD is fundamentally the same, i know the two classes i wanna play are ROG & WIZ. The question in my mind is which is the faster XPer in SoD?

Please add anything else on this subject (Which class should i choose to pour hours a day into?) that you think i should know.

Wiz will likely level faster because they're better soloers, so even when you can't find a group you're set. Rogues, however, are more scarce in the high end game, and in greater demand.
 
I agree with Hasritt.

But then again, if your computer is up to it, why not do both?
Have a Wiz and Rogue 2 boxed, and when you cant find a group just solo w/ the Wiz :)
 
Don't take too much time thinking about it, just go for one, the race is pretty cool for either class anyway. +1 with Hasrett, nothing more to add.
 
I'll openly admit I'm ignorant of playing a rogue. However, I find it amusing that players underestimate wizards' useage of the 5 mana nukes for sustained DPS. I wish I had the luxury of them before my wizard's prime. I'd guess some wizards may use them for most of a group's kill and when the mob is 25% or so use their best nuke.

In addition, wizards and druids in my opinion have the least amount of down time since they can travel at will without the needing to get to TL NPCs for asking a porter. Don't forget they both can evacate group in danger.
 
Yeah, there's nothing like nuking the shit out of stuff.

It's even more fun than backstabbing, I must admit.
 
Rogue can definently solo , its just not going to be anywhere near the same level of soloing as wizards.


For the most part its been said , theres ALOT more wizards then there are rogues.


In my opinion wizards are alot more easier gear wise ect and can be done with less difficulty assuming you know what your doing.

Unlike rogues who need something to prevent them from dieing in 5 hits.

Also if you want leveling speed , Pfft dark elf , go human
 
Yeah, wizards are definitely much less gear-dependent. With the 5-mana nukes you can put out decent DPS no matter what your gear, in a group or solo. Obviously good gear will improve things, but it's not at all necessary. Rogues, like all melees, need some better gear--weapons and, as you gain some levels, haste, at the least.

Level 65 5mana nukes are not store bought and actually tend to be rather hard to come by. It's no different from rogues.
 
I'd rather play a high end melee than a high end caster. Searching for spells for Kambing made me want to shoot someone, or at least train a group in DN.

It's so much easier to raid a mob and get a weapon than it is to raid a mob and get a relic spell.

Hahaha at the training comment. I almost used lol....almost.
 
For grouping, there will likely be little difference between the two.

As for soloing, well rogue solo doesnt really exist.

Wizards can solo very well from 29 upwards (24 if you are brave and have a SoW), due to quad kiting, getting from 29 - 55 ish with a wizard is a breeze.
