Rod from Empress

This rod came from empress today:

My question is, would it be possible to make this a 1 hand blunt, or keep the 2 hand and change the stats?

From every encounter I have seen empress is a tougher target to take down than Advisor, who drops http://wintersroar.com/wanelo/items.php?id=6480&charid=120517 They are basically the same stats with slight differences, (book with more mana, rod with saves and melee). But the point is that the book is one-handed. I didn't want a rarer drop like the staff to sit in my inventory.

Perhaps adding a clicky effect to it while maintaining the same stats is a solution?

Lord Rihzal in WTOV actually has some lore to give if you hail him. These names refer to the draconic pantheon, I believe.
