Rhythm of the Blademaster

When I was in White Tees, sometimes we would roll with 3 bards (Safa, Burglecut, Ceadiyen). CW won a fight on Sunday with 3 bards in raid. Two of us were playing Blademaster while I was not because I don't have Blademaster 1. It would be amazing for multiple bards in the same group to get the tome effects of Blademaster being played by one bard. It would be fair if the benefitting bard only got the % "flurry" chance they deserved (for the Blademaster tomes they have actually done) while listening to his counterpart belt it out.

PS. Buying Blademaster 1, Crescendo 2, Quiet Reflection 2, Magic Mastery 2.

I don't normally post a whole heck of a lot....but man, you must not be playing your bard right. Cressendo is an amazing tome! Looking forward to finishing vol 2. Quiet Reflection seemed bad to me as well....till the Bellow from Refuge. With that, you should not have mana left at the end of a raid fight. So faster mana regen is a good thing.

I do however wish that being grouped with another bard singing Blademaster would activate your tome as well. (not that I've done that one yet).

It allows bards to have an increased meditate skill and benefits from, where if you don't have it you are capped out at 130. So the significance of this is that bards get to regen mana faster while medding than they normally would just for doing this tome. While it may appear lame, its actually quite nice.

Um, thanks for that explanation of what meditate does. That has been confusing me for over a decade. Being able to stand up sooner to watch the healers finish medding is totally not lame. Spending tens of hours to watch a blue bar move a bit faster while your avatar sits and stares at nothing is cool. Now that I understand this I have lots of ideas for all those poor classes who lack nice tomes.

Ok, so this post has semi-remained around topic and flown into left field alot. While I try to respect everyones opinions. There has been a lot of shit talk over a bard tome, which is supposed to be civil and educating towards a suggestion for change. So lets please attempt to keep this attack free/slam free. There are pm's for those things :)

While I have not seen much support for versatility by allowing more haste songs to gain the effect of tome. I have seen that allowing multiple bards gain benefit from blademaster to assist in overcoming redundancy. I know Thizik is against change and he did develop the tome, so I can respect his opinion. Although I see nothing against adding functionality for multiple bards(Bard dots on mobs not stacking, is the closest comparison I can make here)

I know there are lots of classes that don't have fully developed tomes yet, but will eventually, I am just expressing my opinion on current tomes. Which I have to give a big thanks to Thizik for creating them. I personally have a extreme dislike for tomes, class or otherwise in general(I could but will not go on a rant here about time/effort/XP/tier/rarity/lack of options/cost/benefit/ETC). But I feel with work, communication, and dedication we can work together to resolve minor issues without destroying intent/creativity/time that has been placed into making these things a possibility.

So, with that I'll bring back my option 3 as it seems most feasible, and popular of option. Which is to allow multiple bards in group gain benefit from the tome.

Thank you for your consideration

This thread needs to get completely civil right now. That includes not saying "your shit is boring" or "you're a dumbass" or anything like that.

This also means that if you feel that a certain spell or line of tomes is underwhelming, you should say so politely and with an attitude of accepting that your opinion may be disagreed with by others.

For example, at the time the "Quiet Reflection" line of Bard Class Tomes was introduced, it was much appreciated by the high end bards it was designed for since mana regen was indeed an issue for them. This is a matter of context that not all players are expected to understand. However, any player that expresses an opinion of "these tomes are terrible" is expected to be polite if someone responds to them with a dissenting opinion, particularly one in context.
