Last time I brought this up I made a blanket statement that people should get mana back vastly quicker than they do now. The response was more or less "slow down son don't rock the boat, waiting is what sod is all about." So this time I want to address waiting as it applies specifically to raiding.
This is a game. Waiting is not a feature, it's a pain.
The best of cases a wipe is minus 15 minutes. The average is closer to 25. These numbers were generated scientifically.
That's just ridiculous.
The layers of waiting for a raid wipe are currently:
- running back or porting (maybe)
- rezzing close to 18 people (nearly 3 minutes of chain-clicking lifeward but I bet you'll never find a rez session on a full wipe that took less than 3)
- death effects
- rebuffing
- medding
This is too many. You can get rid of some with your own work, but not always. Also, when you are preparing to do a boss again your recovery is only as fast as the slowest person.
Ideas!
1) Make medding in raid zones like 10 times faster. You already can't med in combat so it's not going to help bind rushing, and raids are almost never waiting on mana between pulls anyway.
2) Make rezzing someone dispel death effects. I mean you already can't do it in combat and you have no mana anyway.
3) Make each tick of meditative trance do more than the previous one.
4) Make a tradeskill item thats expensive and hard and everything else that lets someone construct something like the oops I killed you bot, except not everything instantly. Fish feast forever.
5) A cm command casters can use every half hour to gain full mana back over a minute or two long unbreakable mez/fear/whatever.
6) (credit to someone else) Make the end of death effects restore most or all of your mana, and make rezzing not reduce your mana to 0.
Really anything that makes it so waiting is less of a feature.
