Request for a change to the rules.

Well what I am implying is that bad people do not deserve the support of server staff that's what I'm really saying here.

I'm with you, Slaariel. I've been on this server 8 years, and I've never once had to put a petition in over a claims dispute, personally. I've always been able to work it out with the other party.

But I'm man enough to admit when I've been beaten in a race for claim. It seems others don't have the moral fortitude to do the same.

Would it be too much of a hassle to give the GMs a little bit of leeway when making rulings on claim disputes? Why not have an exception to the rule in instances where someone could kill a raid mob with less than 6 people? In this instance you could require that they display a reasonable ability to kill the mob with X amount of people they had at the time of the dispute within a 30 minute time period of getting to the raid boss.

In the altercation that I am assuming this thread is based off of (Pazms trying to kick Negatron out of PoEarth after he spent an hour clearing) it would be easily determinable that Negatron could duo Sister. This would prevent his time investment from being wasted because some player who has demonstrated himself as a self entitled prick tries to screw him over.

Thanks for reminding me of why I think the 6 to claim rule is stupid Bango. As the mudflation continues, capable 2 to claim or even capable 1 to claim could make sense. Why should it be that you can't claim just because you are short on people but not short on force?

What if instead of boxing bango he was boxing a t11 paladin. Now someone is like ha no way he can duo that im gonna dispute his claim. And then the next week its still bango duoing it but its xenion playing him so obviously no way he has capable force anymore. Then nxt week theres a t11 mnk who thinks he can do it hmm no way but this other mnk has some t12 gear so i think for a mnk duo it takes 4 pieces of t12 raid gear to meet capablw force for a t5 duo raid claim unless that claim is on Veteran Klindra in which case u need 7 pieces t12+ because she rapes.

Draelyn was soloing PoEarth mobs in t-map gear, just sayin....also pull klindra with dispell!

People can throw around what-ifs and yeah-buts all day long. This wouldn't even be an issue if folks just behaved like adults. It might go something like this:

/tell [guy duoing in poearth] hey dawg, you after salves?
[guy duoing in poearth] tells you, yeah
/tell [guy duoing in poearth] mind if I tag along? I'd help speed things up and maybe we could [random the salve]/[you help me get my salve when you're done]/[kill a lot of monsters and take turns looting salves]
[guy duoing in poearth] tells you, [yeah sure man sounds good let's kill some dragons]/[no sorry I'm at work and don't really have time to commit to anything prolonged]/[I'm just gonna duo this super-easy mob and bounce]

Then you either team up or you get there first next time.

I might be wrong on this but isn't the majority of the server at least a quarter of a century old?

Instead we have dickbutts running around doing something more akin to this:

beavis-and-butthead.jpg

tl;dr - It doesn't matter what the rules are if the community is going to permit unholy jack-shits to run amok

If you are stupid or a bad player or both you should count as less than 1 person for the purpose of determining if you can make a 1-man claim.

You are taking what I said and making it unnecessarily complicated. Under the change to the rules that I propose here would be a situation where it would apply:

Group A has 2-5 people and they enter a wing/zone/area where a raid mob resides and starts to clear to said mob. After they have killed a handful of mobs Group B (6 people) ports up and submits a petition disputing the claim because Group A does not have 6 people.

GM shows up, notifies Group A that their claim has been disputed and as soon as they reach the raid mob they have 30 minutes to demonstrate capable force to kill the mob. During this time they cannot have more people come in to help them.

Meanwhile, the petitioning party (Group B) must wait until such 30 minute period has passed, at which point the GM would make a ruling.

Edit: Your sarcasm is not lost on me, but I wanted to make sure that no one else mistakes your post as a serious counter-argument -- with that being said I did get a chuckle out of it.
