Request: Fletcher Merchant in Athica

I was wondering if a fletcher merchant can be added to Athica since it already has other tradeskill merchants like alchemy, blacksmithing, etc.

It's something that was actually on our list of things to add to Athica before we took a break from the BoT & Roleplaying.  I'm not sure it it got overlooked, or if it was something that was in the process before our break, but I'll definately look into that now that things are starting up again.

I hope the additional missing tradeskill vendors can be added in (pottery is missing as well), and that the tradeskill vendors can be made available 24 hours a day, as was our original goal for Athica. With that patch, a few new tradeskills were added, but some are closed at night, and the blacksmith merchant was moved from 24 hour availability to only daytime.

I don't want Athica to replace every other city by having every merchant available at every hour of the day - and you will be able to get fletching supplies in Kelethin soon.

Why did players spend time rebuilding this city? Shouldn't it include things the players need?

Now it's the starting city for High Elves. It just doesn't seem like it's much of a player run town.

high_elf001 "Hey guys thanks for rebuilding...we're gonna move back in now though, so sod off."

Meh...I never go there anyway unless I have to get ported out to a raid.

All the "shops" in Athica are 24 hour, but I stated to Jayelle that there wasn't endless space and street merchants weren't going to keep all hours a day for a few hundred pp.

Athica B is the high elven quarters, as was always originally planned. It's still a mostly mixed races town.

Not sure what you mean here. The blacksmithing shop and jewelry shop are closed at night, and the weapon merchants, while their shop has no door, are gone at night (not that this one's a big deal...).

Hm, that's true.

I'll see about making the smithing shop 24/7 then, all the other ones with actual houses are.

I see. Well I suppose that makes sense then. I guess I just imagined more player involvement in the other part of town is all. /shrug

Thanks for the explanation though.

There was a lot of player involvement in the town, but that doesn't mean you can get your every wish.

No I understand that. I just thought it was going to be more player involved for the duration is what I meant.

It appeared for a while that Athica was going to be "the" player town...like a hub of sorts.

I just had a misinterpretation of what was intended.

As the Haven of Lore era showed, having one single hub is incredibly detrimental to the community of the server.

Athica is probably the most popular city as it is.
