It would be a larger scale than Dragon/Giant turn ins just because there are many more gods. Definitely alot of work to enrich the story line.

I don't think it would have to be. A God might not be interested in every piece of trash a follower of one of his/her enemies happened to pick up. It would make sense however if each plane/deity's zone had a (or a few) significant drop(s), that would be valuable to another deity.

According to the Gods of Dalaya lore, most deities have a favored weapon; for example, Sihala's "twined greatstaff." If the boss mob in Plane of Earth had this staff as a drop, the deity who feuds with Sihala (idk if there is one or who it is, this is just an example) would take special interest in seeing this weapon taken from her, and might imbue it with additional powers to reward someone who had done so.
