Relics on VD Request for d

Sence VD and higher are going to drop relics now it should only be fair to add Ancients to D maps.
 
Part of the reasoning behind adding the small VD relic chance is to combat the added benefits Ds get with the quest piece and the parry ring. We figured this was a nice no nerf fix that should get the price of vd's relative to d's back where it should be.

So unfortunately the answer to your request is no - we are not going to be adding more value to D maps and below.

By saying "VD's will have a small relic drop chance" we are actually saying "VDs will have a chance to drop Relic-type spells" which includes both relics AND ancients. So you will be able to get both from VDs.

Make more sense?
 
Hopefully it's pretty small, even VD treasure maps really aren't hard enough to merit being an efficient replacement for raiding tiers 3-8 for relics.
 
I'm just guessing but it would probably be on par with tier 3 drop rates. Thats still pretty low in the small chance catagory IMO.

I just hope it's not such a uber small chance. That doesn't really help the VD map situation at all. An uber small chance wouldn't really warrent the price Im sure map sellers are going to want in the near future. Plus an uber small chance doesn't make up for the D map ring and quest piece drops as they are now.

Other then that right on I really like seeing them have a chance to drop from VD maps.

On a side note alot of waves including the last can be a tad harder then alot of the tier 3 encounters we have done. Some of them are even laughable compared to the last spawn of a vd map in some cases. Thats why Im guessing that the small rate will be about tier 3 in drop rates.

This is of corse all speculation.

Far far under that if I'm correct in my gauging of Gnok's chance. This was said to be about 2/3 him. Considering his relic drop chance is relatively miniscule (ancient is quite higher, but there are ridiculously easy mobs that drop ancients, far easier than vd maps.), I doubt it will increase the going rate of vd maps any.

This change as far as I understand was based on the going rate for VD v. D maps. D maps having the quest piece, and the parry ring both as very desirable items. Vdmaps have some decently cool loot (DE ring) Leckimka's garbs not bad. However the tier lacks a really must have desirable item such as the parry ring. In addition quest pieces force the price up, whereas VD doesn't really have anything to compensate in that particular area.

But that's besides the point. There really is no need for ancients on D maps.
 
Funny you should mention Gnok, I think he holds the record for droping Relics for us LOL.

Then again the RNG hates us *shrug*

I'm just wondering if its going to be like the DN dragons 1% Ancient drop rate or something a bit higher.
 
A 1% in all honestly would be a waste of coding time.

I'm pretty sure that the quest piece and the ring have a better then 1% chance to drop LOL. At least thats what I have gathered from all of my past D map stomping a while back.

I would emagine 5% or even a tad higher would be on par with a small chance.

Given that I don't think I have ever seen an official percentage on ANY relic drop chance, the best you're probably going to hear is "yes, they drop from VD maps now"
 
Exactly I don't think they will ever say the exact number. I'm just going to guess that sence some waves are about tier 3 expecially the final wave then thats the kind of drop rate we can expect.

Which in itself is a small chance of seeing a drop.

Really? Like...between what mobs are we talking here? Because having farmed storms eye like it was my job (Upper Dhk too, but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much, old rampage + AE makes mage sadfase) I can safely say that we pulled a literal shitton of relics out of there over things like Gnok. Last I talked to the people involved there was some question as to whether he dropped relics at all. We never saw one. We were under the impression he just dropped ancients and that was it.

Higher tier a bit, though I'd estimate really around the same difficulty for Gnok as some of the first named in there. The trash pulls in there are what the real bitch is.

It depends. The ring took literally fucking forever to drop when Rurho was doing it for Drello way back. We geared literally an army of alts purely on dmap gear just helping him to try and get it, and I got 4 D map quest pieces. Other people also got quite a few. But that was a literal heaping ton of maps done. I'm not even sure how many. I was on 15 at the very least, and I wasn't even there for most of them.

We (Amicii) got 3 off him in the last 4 monthes. If that matters.
Whereas SE has given us 3 as a whole, NDHK/EDHK 3, Za'Yth 2, PoA 2, HoM 2, and maybe one more somewhere I forget (PoT?) (so Gnok dropped as many relics as whole zones that do drop them for us).


Ok back to the subject.
Question to the staffers: is this change already in effect, or is this waiting for a patch still?
