I've noticed somewheres in the sticked questionnaire someone wants to see mounts implemented next. I'd just like to throw out the idea of not only mounts, but possibly illusion: dragon spells for the really expensive "Mounts" and stuff like that. I wouldn't directly call them mounts anymore, but a speed boost illusion/mount/spell. Imagine popping on Form Nagafen and running across da' badlands with bard speed, or a mountain lion form with spirit of cheetah! Would be wicked cool. Just curious what the playerbase would say to this, now vote away!

I can't remember what the ykesha mounts are called, Gunthaks? Eh, and yes, i did forget that option... but you don't have to vote either! Then again it wouldn't be a true poll

I spoke to Wiz about this a week or so ago about mounts, he basically told me he just wants mounts to be just something as a ride, not for medding or casting spells from it, you would have to dismount before doing that.

So I am fine with that idea, just having a mount as a means of transportation and nothing else.

So my only suggestions to have mounts available would be where at North Newport, outside at the sides of the gate by the wall on both sides would be vendor mounts as well as live mounts as a demostration showcase.

Lizzie mounts I think should belong at the froglet city would be at (I think that would be a good place, unless someone has a better suggestion)

As for prices, well I had always thought the prices on EQLive was a tad bit too high, but that will be up to Wiz to consider what's a appropriate price on each mount(s) if any.

Just my 2 cents on this.

As far as uh, practically every informed player and member of the staff knows, WR will never have mounts and in my opinion never should have mounts.

Of course, Wiz may have changed his mind without consulting anyone about it.

The mounts were always so buggy in live, I think it would be a programming nightmare for Wiz and staff.

I think the idea of specific illusions would work well and give a little flavor.

I don't think dragon illusions would be a good idea though, since the client has a hard time with more than 20-30 people. I couldn't imagine the lag with 20-30 dragons running around.

Since I don't know, I'll ask. Are luclin models not supported by EQ Emu and/or WR? Does it have something to do with the current version?

There are horses in the game currently at the coach stations iirc.

They were loaded for that specific zone, just like the PoP Treants in old LFay and the banshee model in Misery. To support horses for every zone, they would have to be loaded manually with those txt files that everyone downloads. Something that's not very efficient, and a big pain.

Sure they are, but we don't want to give people who use Luclin models an advantage since a lot of people agree that Luclin models are ugly and bloated.

What's the big fear of mounts in WR? I liked them on Live.

They're Luclin models only, for starters.

So? That just means if you don't have Luclin models on you won't see the mounts. You'd just see people as they would be sans horse. They'd appear to run by if riding their mount, or standing with their own two feet on the ground if they weren't moving. This is how it works on Live anyway.

I'm missing something on this whole anti-Luclin model thing going on here at WR. I mean it's cool to have a soft spot for the old models and all, and everyone is entitled to their own tastes... but some people seem overly hung up on the old. I don't get it, what's up with that?
